Well it's been a month since I posted it. I see that some countries are still struggling to cope with it because their citizens are not taking it seriously. On one hand it may be the upbringing and society that plays a role in the mindset. On another hand, there is too much politicking in some countries.

(May 4, 2020, 4:51 am)Thechickenlawyer There will always be more people. People will be born again (along with all the unneeded unplanned pregnancies). Seniors serve no purpose now. All people do is worry and stress about em.

I think you already pointed out the flaws in your mindset by saying "there will always be more people and seniors are worthless anyway." You know, those fucking people are family and friends to others. They matter to them. Once they're gone, you can't have them back. They might be raw numbers to you, but the same logic indicates that you and anyone significant to you is also a part of that raw number.

Just take a step back and see how callous it is to just say that those people who die do not matter.

I don't mean to shit on people on the spectrum, but perhaps that's what's going on here? It would explain the lack of comprehension.

I mean, general narcissism is a natural human quality. We love making causation on issues so that we have a "peaceful mind". Doubt and skepticism of our own views make us anxious. I am just convinced he has a very singular view on most things with not that much adaptability and cohesion with others. Hell, I was raised Bible-Belt Protestant and Conservative and now I'm an Atheist Libertarian. Our upbringing and our teen maturation into adults has a lot to do with our "innate" views of the world.

(May 3, 2020, 4:15 pm)BelliusMaximus A lot of people on unemployment are getting three times as much money as I am and get to stay home all day.  Then they bitch about that.

i'm laid off. i don't know when i'll be back at work. yes, i am making much more on unemployment with the $600 additional weekly bonus, but that only lasts until the end of july. after that, i get $200 a week... just barely enough to get by on after rent, bills, and food.

i'm budgeting the big weekly windfall (and stimulus payment), and sitting on most of it so i can have a cushion to live off of until the end of the year if i can't go back to work for a few more months. i'd love to go back to my job, but it's not possible right now. it sucks, not really being able to do anything, and not leaving the house unless it's necessary.

i may be making a bunch of money getting "to stay home all day" right now, but i'm not sure what will happen after the next few months.

so fuck right off with your bullshit assuming we're just all having a grand old time, hanging around the house on "playcation".

People who do the hardest & best jobs are paid dogshit while celebrities get paid for doing things that are not essential (music, & TV are not esential). Your average OBGYN or farmer does more work than Beyonce & yet she makes more. Good thing is if there's a depression then celebrities will learn how to be poor & feel the way people have felt for centuries. They wouldn't last a year without their crap. I hope some famous people end up working at a grocery store or other esential place instead of sitting on their ass. TV & movies do not make a difference in the world!

So no this country & world will never do all it needs. This country created social media which caused a rise in bullying, suicides & deaths. Stupid people wit smart phones. This planet is failing. If you expect a war torn planet full of shallow self absorbed people & a bag of diseases to save humanity & treat people better. Never going to happen. I'll save myself & my family & my chick & I'm done.

Yo dude, count me amongst the ones that think shit needs to be opening back up. At least you are planning accordingly. I know a few people that went and bought big screen TV's and other lavish purchases with their stimulus money and then a week or so later complained about their bills.

I'm tired and cranky because I'm on my feet 8 hours a day doing curbside shopping for customers that do nothing but bitch about what we do.  It's not my fault we're out of a bunch of stuff because of a national shortage.

We have at least 4-5 customers every day show up in the lobby and bitch and moan about earing masks and acting like total asses.  I get it..wearing a mask sucks ass.  I have a hard time breathing by the 6th hour of my shift.  But guess what, the governor says we gotta wear em so I don't have a choice.

Still bummed around here, for still the same reason, although I'm not as bummed as before, since I got used to living with mediocre family members. Some areas of my country are now under General Community Quarantine (GCQ), but the area of which I live in has the highest amount of cases of the bug, so still extended the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) until May 15, so yeah. Kinda hanging on by looking at niche art and video games.

I can't wait for everything to reopen. With everything closed, people resorted to gathering at the grocery store in order to chat with their friends. Which made my job extremely difficult considering I had to end up getting nasty with a few customers for clogging up the aisles. Not to mention most of the customers don't understand the concept of only going out for the essentials, and end up making a daily trip to the store. Is it too hard to buy a week's worth of food and not scarf it all down within a day? And of course every time a shipment of toilet paper and and type of disinfective arrives, I have to not only fend it off from the customers, but also from other associates to make sure everyone get's at least 1 of each.

My sympathy for people was starting to wean before the pandemic, but after this I really can't give a damn about people anymore. If you can't get lysol for your aging grandparent/cousin/handicapped neigbor, then too bad. I legit still get sob stories on how someone's been traveling for days all across the state for toilet paper and will refuse to leave the store before they can get a case. I'm just mentally exhausted at this point with work and petty arguments to the point where I don't even bring up the situation if I don't have to.

It pisses me off that its supposed to be stay home not blow all your damn monry on a deck or garden stuff. I understand why people are doing it but it pisses me off
