I don't get the whole toilet paper hoarding thing... I mean like why toilet paper of all things? It literally would not be a problem if people didn't hoard it, the shortage is entirely artificial. I guess it's something that gives people a sense of security? I heard from a friend that a worker in a store tried to sell her a "secret" stashed package of toilet paper for an extreme price. It's kind of ridiculous.

I thought the toilet paper shortage was ending. I’m finding it easily now at my local store all though the shelve is not as fully stocked as it would normally be before the pandemic it is not completely bare like it was two months ago.

I assume it all comes down to the store's policy of 1 per customer and how much the manufacturers can pump out and distribute. It's still blown where I'm at, and my local store gets a shipment truck in every other day with any paper getting sold out within a few hours. @alexgraves At least plumbers are living their best lives right now since they're no doubt booked for weeks. When there is a crisis, humans feel the need for security and might hoard things. Some people went into lockdown before most states and the federal government required such. Events like these are reality hits for people and remove tranquilizing feelings that prevent them from seeing that life is actually fleeting and may end at any moment. That's why people desire a feeling of safety to decrease any sort of existential angst or anxiety associated with these events.
So 24 counties in western PA (including mine) will begin reopening on friday, which I am both happy and scared. Happy because, well, it'll be the first time in months that I get to interact with people irl, but at the same time I'm worried that some jackasses are gonna get the virus and have it spread wayyy faster than it did before.
All of these rude and entitled customer stories remind me why I'm glad I left retail years ago. Where do some of these little shits(excuse my language) get their sense of entitlement from? Whoever came up with the "customer is always right" slogan needs to be tarred and feathered!
Had a guy film an altercation with employees at another one of our stores and he's hammering our Company social media page about how he was wronged. To days after the fact, he got charged by the police for starting shit and his tune sure changed in a hurry. People are starting fights with employees looking for a payday right now.
I'm just trying to stay safe and get home to my family. Saw a guy trying to buy 20 of our 4 pound value packs of ground beef today and screaming because of our policy of 2 per customer. This is a perfect example. What the hell is wrong with some people?! I've seen toddlers handle things better. The customer is always right thing was made so the stores could keep people coming back. If you piss em off then they leave. An easy way to get around the customer limit is to bring some guests with you, you give each guest the limited number of the limited item & your done. When people arent looking I take shit out their basket & put it in my sqaure basket.
