alexgraves Really it's the states that aren't issuing stay at home orders or have particularly lax ones that worry me. While I think more countries could have prepared like Signapore in early January or responded to the outbreak like South Korea did, Hindsight 2020, you can't enact action in the past but like... these examples mean places like South Dakota don't really have an excuse, just because things haven't gotten bad *yet* there. And that's almost entirely the fault of the governor if things start to get bad there. Other than that other states are awake and doing their part.

The government in Singapore is a fucking joke. They kept adhering to WHO's recommendations (not enforcing wearing of mask and allowed the Chinese to come in), and see where it has gotten them to? 45,000 cases and still increasing for a population of around 5.8 million.

I never understood the mindset of one country neglecting the virus over others. NEWSFLASH EVERY COUNTRY HASN'T BEEN TAKING THE VIRUS SERIOUSLY. You can't enforce people to wear masks whether you're in the deep south of the U.S or oversees in London . People need to quit acting like their country is the only shitty one.

Right but in all fairness, some have taken action while others have shrugged. All you have to do is look at the statistics and it's pretty clear...

What's pretty clear here is that the statistics mean nothing at the end if nearly every country is seeing fluctuating amounts of cases, whether they took action in January or not.

OK... but they're not. There are wild, significant differences in each country's case numbers. Take a look: https://www.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard...7b48e9ecf6

I'm currently still going to work due to me being an essential worker. Within the State of New York it has slowly reopened in phases than it being a rush job like other places. Long Island is still sitting in the third phase of re-opening and sometime this week we are going to be entering phase four. Aside from that, been watching anime and playing some video games.

Considering this doesn't even cover all cases, it's hard to take this sole source as gospel. That being said, every country's been slipping on preventing spread, regardless of which country's more guilty of it.

People now would rather risk death than wear a mask and being forced to stay indoors. And I can't say I blame them.

You're right I've been looking at them weekly and my dad daily. Even here in the U.S. we haven't hit the middle of the first wave of covid-19. It pays off to have a father in respiratory care for 27 and a half years who is one of the best in the tri state area.
