Ok, I want to clear something up.

COVID-19 is NOT the flu.
It is NOT the cold.

It may bear similar symptoms, but the virus itself is not a variable/strain of the rhinovirus (common cold) or invluenza virus.

Please please PLEASE for the love of all things anyone holds dear, STOP spreading misinformation. I don't care what the POTUS says this week.

I'm not fear mongering. I understand that this is an issue, possibly not as bad as people make it out to be, but it's still bad. But try to get the facts straight.

Yeah there appears to be a great deal of misinformation and disregard going around. The conspiracy theories are... just plain wack, too. Seriously. Wack. Stop.

Here's the bottom line: this virus spreads more easily than the flu and can kill people with compromised/weakened immune systems, like senior citizens or HIV-positive individuals. The quarantines are to protect the vulnerable among us. That's all there is to it. It's not some Illuminati plan, my dudes.

Here in Indiana we have had our schools close, universities cancel classes and graduation, and just today our governor has ordered most bars and restaurants to close or go to carry out only for at least a month. As far as myself, I’m fine, but I’m worried about my older family members, especially since they don’t seem to be taking the virus seriously. Maybe it’s all that misinformation...

So why not just quarantine the vulnerable people instead of making everyone suffer? Why should my life come to a halt to protect individuals that I don't even come in contact it?

I aing worried. I've been shot before, I've been stabbed before. Yeah people will die from this who cares. Its a part of history. This aint the Black Plague. I know how to stay clean n safe. The social distancing thing: I've been socially distance since I was 10. I hate hugs and hand shakes. Humans created this by not keeping our planet clean & leaving germ infested shit everywhere.

Humans are regressing and they create shit like this virus. Thats why we dont see signs of life on other planets. There is life, they just want nothing to do with us. Advanced & smarter than us aliens dont want a planet filled with: war, disease & social media.

Every school, university is suspended until further notice. I live in Detroit in a 105 year old house. I walk very fast. Ill still go to Target to get my snacks. Been going to Target every Sat since I was 5 months old

I m from italy. We are all quarantined in our houses, it s frustrating but we have to do it. Despite that, the virus is still spreading quickly and probably the peak will be next week or this weekend.

However the quarantine is fondamental. Is the only instrument that we have (for now) for fight against the virus. We haven't vaccine or a specific antiviral (we are using antiviral from hiv, or rheumatoid arthritis drug). ABSOLUTELY IS NOT LIKE FLU, i try to explain why :
Flu symptoms : high fever, cough... Flu can causes pneumonia occasionally because flu let bacteria spread and "enter in pneumonia". So that we can use antibiotics for solving that. Finally, we have vaccine and antiviral for flu.
Instead covid 19 can cause directly (no bacteria so antibiotics aren't useful) an interstitial bilateral pneumonia (flu cause monolateral pneumonia) in everyone, young old, healthy and non healthy. Also, the 10 percent of the infected required critical care.. So please be careful and stop saying that is like a common flu!

This is a legit virus. It kills people and there's no way to stop it at the moment. It's not the flu, it's about 10x more serious.

Please, for the love of god, don't go about your life like everything is normal. Nothing is normal right now. Stay home if you can, it's the only way to slow the spread. Even if you contract COVID19 and don't die, they estimate you'll pass it on to 2-4 people...and one of them could die.

The governement say not go out, just for market (and enter 5 people at time inside), pharmace and hospital, everythingh other are closed to indefinite time. we need to stay all at home until 3 april possibly, after will see what happening, but the situation is really dangerous.
All italy is in red zone, especially the Nord, where i am, but lucky im fine actually, some cough sometime but nothingh other, hope to stay fine until this finish. And today was 1 week im at home, never go out, problem is the others people that go out anyway, do sport, alone or in group and im very angry for that!! they dont understand how much can be danger for us!!!!

Good luck; be safe! Some say the U.S. is going to follow the same course as Italy over the next few weeks. I certainly hope not, but it's getting harder to stay optimistic.
