If a mom has to pump part time, but nurses while with the baby, can the baby discern the difference?

How are we supposed to know? No one here can read a baby's mind.

Yes, babies can tell the difference, and "nipple preference" (when my kids were born it was mislabeled "nipple confusion") is the term for a baby preferring breast over bottle, or vice versa. Some babies won't take a bottle but the mom doesn't produce enough milk, so she can use an SNS (look it up) to essentially bottle-feed with her own nipple. Pretty neat, and from my wife's experience, also a huge pain in the ass.

Even on the woman the baby could tell .  I h a d one who would only drink from my wifes right boob. Could never get her to take the left
