depending if i get both the stimulus check combined with unemployment (i got laid off since my job was non-essential).

i'll sit on most of it, though i'll maybe spend about $100-$150 on myself as a treat.

I'm probably not even going to get it since I just got hired for a very well-paying job, I'm still getting paid, and I'm opposed to the whole "free money from Uncle Sam" thing on principle because it's already stolen from us in the form of income taxes.

I suppose if I had to take and spend the money on anything, it would be on beer, rent, computer parts, and ammunition.

NOW If you wanna make a real difference, how about using that money to buy lunch for your local medical personal, first responders, and grocery store workers who are risking their lives and busting their asses everyday?

Fix my car, tackle the major stuff then I can finally achieve my dreams if getting better speakers for it, I’ll dump what’s left into my savings.

Good point. "Essential worker" is just a new label for the underpaid/underappreciated people whose work keeps society running while everyone else plays games with numbers. Looking out for them right now is critical -- even if you want to do it for entirely selfish reasons.

i got laid off *AND* lost my place to live in a two week period.

that'll, and the unemployment i tuck away, will help me with the deposit and first months rent on a new pad when i return from my self-quarantine in my hometown.

must be nice to speak from your pedestal of privilege where $1200 is a mere pittance.

I, of course, looked at it as inflation of the money supply. However with how high unemployment is right now, it seems to be a necessity for many people. I’m in college so I won’t receive any stimulus. Unlike my dad, I’m more concerned about the working population than the value of stocks. Unemployment percentages and the value of the dollar mean more than the success of companies. Which is why I think government bail-outs are unconstitutional, should just let the failed corporations be replaced by others.
