(February 2, 2019, 5:56 pm)quasa2 dude seriously fuck apple. apple pcs are not real pcs.  you can get a windows pc for half the price and you don't even have to pay for the operating system. sorry but apple pcs are for pc noobs. its a brand and marketing. just get used to windows pc. you will save a lot of money.

Save a lot of money?? LOL

A couple years ago I accidentally updated my OS on my Macbook to something it was too much for it to handle. I'm not incredibly computer savvy, so when it started running incredibly slow, I figured okay it's spent, I had it for a long time. So I bought an HP, first Windows based PC I had in many, many years. When I finally realized I could upgrade the RAM on my Macbook (again, I'm not super computer savvy) I did that and it worked again. Not long after that, the shitty Windows based PC crapped out on me. Just a little over a year after I got... I've had my Macbook for 10 years now and other than my own stupidity, I've had NO problems whatsoever with it. I've had at least 3 Windows based laptops within a 10-year period. So, yeah I am saving a lot of money by having my Macbook. And what operating system do you have to pay for on a Mac? Last time I checked the OS is free at least the upgrades are. As for Windows.... yeah enjoying paying for those updates.

It's pretty clear from your post that you don't know anything about anything.  I would be best if you shut up and stay on the topic of the thread.

This is where Mac shines. I keep getting prompts daily to change my operating system. I ignore them. My hard drive crashed about a year ago. I took it to have it repaired. Dude wanted $100 for it as its out of warranty. I told him Id rather buy a PC. This is in a PC store mind you so they had PCs all around. He was a MAC specialist that they had on call. He told me and they agreed, fix the Mac. Thing has been running ten years strong and this is the only issue? Fix the Mac. They told me to my face Id be lucky to have a PC last four years and to fix the Mac.

Now look, Im not trying to campaign for Apple / Mac. I say each have their benefits and man do I hate trying to game on this thing but I will say this. I feel like Apple youre paying up front for the computer to last whereas with the PC its kinda up in the air. Apple you can buy insurance for up to four years IIRC. Hard drive crash? They got you. I had that happen my first year and they replaced it without an issue. PC? Oh sorry sir. I switched to Mac for college and I have yet to find a PC offer as much in regards to reliability as Mac does.

Hey guys, I’ve set up a GoFundMe for my new hard drive. Any amount of money will be greatly appreciated, but please don’t feel like you HAVE to donate. Only do what you’re absolutely comfortable with. Thank you in advance to anyone who kicks me a few bucks. This is truly a fantastic community, and I can’t wait to be able to contribute to it again. Smile

$40? Isn't that like 6 hours of minimum wage work?

$40 can be a lot of money for some people.  ESPECIALLY someone working at minimum wage.

I don't know if it's a good idea to put a picture of a Pregnant Lady there. Maybe just the picture of the new Hard Drive you want, but that's just me. It may look suspicious.

It's funny, the guy who has 17 posts in the last 5 years chimes in to criticize someone needing a few bucks to continue producing extremely time consuming and excellent content
