(January 31, 2019, 9:09 am)Maiesio Phil Hi everyone, I’ve got a bit of a situation here. Just remove the hard drive and buy an external adapter. You still need a new laptop but at least you wont lose anything
Well guys, its offical. My laptop is dead. I can still use it in Safe Mode (its a Macbook Pro), so I should be able to recover my files, but actually using it is no longer an option. My hard drive is on its last legs, so I could just replace that after transfering my files, but honestly, my computer probably wouldn’t last long after that. Its over 6 years old and I’ve had problems with it before. I think my best option is to shop around for a new one and save up. I’d like to get another Mac because that’s what I’m used to, so if anyone has any suggestions for a fairly affordable one I can get, please, I’m all ears. :/

I advise buying by components.
Alright guys, after sleeping on it, I am going to buy a new hard drive. I found a replacement for about 40 bucks. I’m hoping it will last me for most of the year, and I can save up for a new laptop along the way.
I’m gonna level with you all though: I do not have much wiggle room when it comes to money right now. I had to make a massive purchase in December and I’m still recovering from it. FranticScribbler suggested pitching in to help me pay for it. I really hate to ask, but is that something you guys would actually be willing to do? I know 40 bucks for a hard drive doesn’t sound like much, but I’m really strapped right now. Even throwing a buck or two my way would really help. If not, I totally understand, we all have to look out for number 1. Anyway, just know that I love making compilations for you guys, and hopefully I’m able to return to it as soon as possible. Thanks for the support and suggestions.
I'd deffo throw in a few dollars for the hard drive. I love your videos and the time stamps, the level of work that goes into them must be phenomenal. I am more than willing to help creators of superb content and its people like you that make me come to this site.
dude seriously fuck apple. apple pcs are not real pcs. you can get a windows pc for half the price and you don't even have to pay for the operating system. sorry but apple pcs are for pc noobs. its a brand and marketing. just get used to windows pc. you will save a lot of money.
Lol quasa, don't hate. We all have our own preferences. (I'm a pc guy btw haha)
As for cloning, all you need is a new drive and an enclosure Recommended was starting fresh by installing newer macos ver to new drive (as a boot able) , then migrate data afterwards. YouTube has tutorials Hdd recommendations, I'd say barracuda from Seagate, have alot of those. Firecuda is faster, but I had one fail within 2 years (heat related) Enclosure, well anything cheap, like ugreen. Reality is computers never get slower, it's just degradation of moving parts, clogged vents, and demanding operating systems/programs. Roll back some versions if you feel the OS is hogging your resources. (February 3, 2019, 2:26 am)lite Lol quasa, don't hate. We all have our own preferences.
