Im looking for some more in-depth medical (or more thorough, detailed) information on what happens to the female body when pregnant women get aroused, have sex and  orgasms. Honestly would be interesting as well as fascinating. All I have come across are short articles saying sex is healthy and a couple of sentences saying the uterus contracts etc. Anyone who could assist me with this strange request? Smile

Sex can cause the uterus to contract, which is why they recommend full-term pregnant women have sex as a way to naturally induce labor. I believe nipple stimulation has the potential do the same.

Sex can also be more pleasurable during pregnancy because of the increased blood flow to the pelvic floor.

Can't think of much else specific to pregnancy.

He is right about the increased blood flow. Also, pregnant women are just awash in female hormones.

I'm sure there is a detailed medical discussion of this somewhere, but I'd be surprised if you wanted to read it. It would be very dry and contain lots of jaw-breaking technical terms. The discussion of female orgasm, not limited to pregnant women, is still the subject of much debate.

As one who writes occasionally, I look for the same kind of info. I look more for personal, rather than technical, information. After all, the docs haven't nailed all these details down.

Two suggestions: If you can stream Netflix, look for a series called "Explained" where they take different topics and discuss them for an hour or so. One episode is entitled "The Female Orgasm Explained". This is a general discussion not limited to pregnant women. Second, go to your local used book store buy a copy of "What To Expect When You Are Expecting" or other similar books. These are obviously targeted to pregnant women. They talk about all of this stuff with a big sisterly, woman to woman vibe. Plus, they discuss other factors contributing to pleasure and orgasm. Things like joyful anticipation, morning sickness, blood flow, relationship issues, freedom from contraception, and so on... Hope this helps.

I'm sure there's a preggo out there that can tell you what ya want to know. Just look at all the belly movement vids & all the big belly pics on IG: most of those moms are turned on/aroused. They don't say it cus they think they will get yelled at for it. Just about every mom (especially the multiples section) gets turned on when they get big & when their belly moves. We know it's true

There's a girl I talk to who is VERY turned on during pregnancy. Literally 95% of her belly videos: she moans a LOT from the baby (or babies) moving. The gir I follow & talk to has a vid from her triplet pregnancy & in 1 of the vids: she is moaning for 15 secs while her belly jigglesSmile point is: someday women will stop hiding from it & just come out & admit it. Imagine those postsSmile

it is the seaman that is supposed to induce labor as opposed to the penetration.  All 3 times my wife went into labor right after I came.

After reading up on this, it turns out the sex-can-induce-labor bit is all inconclusive and anecdotal anyway.

Semen has chemicals in it that can soften the cervix. But the scientific studies have been inconclusive. One study showed that women who had sex after their due date were more likely to go into labor shortly after. The same study repeated later showed that those women were less likely. Shrug.
