First, I saw there was only 1 other thread about this and it was 6 years ago. So I thought I would see what people think since the world has changed a lot since then.

I’m still a virgin (24) and I have been tempted more than once to lose it to a pregnant woman.  Been convincing myself that I’m “waiting for the right person”, but I’m starting to get a different mindset now. I haven’t been in a relationship before due to preference at the time - I was hyper focused on school friends, sports, (HS and college), graduating, and getting a good job, that I just didn’t take the time to commit to a relationship - so I was never able to get to that level of intimacy with someone. I’ve never really considered hookups because I was put into the mindset that it’s immoral (grew up in a very conservative Christian household). Now that I’m living on my own I’ve started to convince myself that maybe it’s not as big of a deal as I always thought. I guess one question is, does it really matter with who and how you lose your virginity?

All of me wants to just do it, because I’m single, not getting any younger and who knows if my eventual wife would even be okay with it when we want to have kids - but there is some part of me that’s holding me back (probably that part that grew up in the conservative Christian household). I’ve always thought it was a big deal but maybe it’s not and I’m just overthinking it, or maybe it’s the fear of disappointing my family if they find out for whatever reason - I’d make sure they don’t, but still it’s something that would be in the back of my mind. 

Any suggestions/advice?

Not really. You're not going to go to hell for having sex before marriage. (YES I KNOW a lot of people here are atheists, but this is coming from someone who also grew up in a Christian household). Plus you're a grown man with his own house. Your family shouldn't be a factor what goes on in your own home.

I 100% agree.  I lost my virginity to a pregnant girl.  But that was more to brag to my friends that I hooked up with a high schooler while still in Jr. High than to have sex with a pregnant girl

You're a grown adult man, don't let your family influence your decisions. Especially when it comes to sex and intimacy because that will just make it weird for you and for your partner. I was raised Catholic too, and honestly, as long as you're a good person, pre-marital sex will not be the deciding factor for what gets you into heaven. I think losing your virginity to a pregnant woman would be awesome. And sex can still be special even if you're not married to, or even dating, the person you are having sex too.

Mate, let me start by saying you are so lucky to be only 24! Have fun and enjoy yourself because, like me, you will eventually be asking where did all the time go? I'm 43 and have been there and done what you are dealing with now. It does not matter who you lose your virginity to as long as she is 18 or older. I lost my virginity to a prostitute in 2004. I was 27 at the time and I have no regrets about it. It does not have to be that so-called special someone and you certainly don't have to wait until you are married before you have sex because marriage is a crock and it is more trouble than it is worth in the long run. The worst thing you can do is pass up a good opportunity believe me you will not forgive yourself later on in your life. There is no time machine to go back and get a second chance. I would love to go back to 2004 and be 27 again but I can't. That time in my life is gone forever. I am thankful that I had fun when I was young and I can look back with a smile.
