Just a note: I'm been intermittently writing a story and this question is relevant with later characters.

If she wants to be of any use in the industry, she has to get back in as soon as she is able... Especially after a divorce you see that they are stranded, based on their lack of experience and out of touch with the new developments. Enough examples of the ones who still managed to get themselves a great and satisfying job, but the majority will have a much harder time. It's nice to think that her husband will keep supporting her, but unless they are in the bracket of an even balanced relationship, I'd rather have her to be working in something that she's passionate about. We are sharing our time raising our child/children, she doesn't have to do that by herself.
I forgot to mention earlier, but a Stay at home dad, hiring a babysitter or even a daycare could also be factors.
(May 17, 2021, 4:16 pm)alexnj Depends on alot. My company has an open door hiring policy and I do see alot of moms who are looking for something to while there kids are in school or after the husband gets home. There is 1 problem with returning to work.. if the woman keeps getting pregnant every year *caugh* unplanned *caugh* she never works a full year (excluding days off, sick days & holidays). If somone repeatedly gets pregnant every year & doesn't try to prevent it, they keep taking leave for the same time & no job wants an employee that keeps taking that much time off every year. Imagine you're the boss & 1 of your employees keeps getting pregnant "by accident" & for the 3rd time in a row: she takes leave close to her due date & you don't see her for a year maybe more. Doesn't seem like thay woman cares about her job if she never worked enough. Women should get the job they want based on how many kids they want. Plus companies might not be able to give leave bc of the pandemic. Lastly (after seeing the guy with making only 30K to work) the only way to make enough to support a kid is to make close to or over 100K. There's this girl I follow who is maybe 19, she thinks she wants another kid but.. she hasn't started college, isn't working & the last job she did was minimum wage. The $ she gets is from her bf, baby daddy & her parents.
Wait this actually makes no sense
Who is actually dumb enough to get pregnant every year just for workers comp @Thechickenlawyer ? Do you not get the amount of compensation is little compared to the cost of raising multiple children for 18 years?
Gonna assume he said some batshit theory on why women have multiple children. This is why it’s best to leave him blocked.
(May 18, 2021, 12:42 pm)ThechickenlawyerSo your response is don't hire women? I would love to see you as the CEO of a company, I caan just imagine the lawsuits. Women are passionate about their careers, women also want to have a family. They find a way to make it work. Yes it maybe tough for some companies but they cary on. I did have one woman who was 7 months pregnant assigned to my team, which meant she was hired while pregnant. I was able to clear her from my team before she had the baby. (In my company a team consists of about 5-10 new hires per team leader, and are removed from the team after closing 5 deals. )(May 17, 2021, 4:16 pm)alexnj Depends on alot. But his postings make me feel smart. Imagine dropping $100k on law school only to end up representing chickens. | |||||||||||||||||
