I just dim my screen and make it look like I'm playing a running game on my phone and hold it at a good angle so if the person I'm taking pictures of looks at me I can simply look up normally and they go back to what they were doing

I was at the mall today and saw 2 pregnant women. I was walking towards a store I wanted to go to and I was behind 2 hispanic women and was thinking to myself how easily I can tell women are pregnant from behind because of how they are walking and I was also thinking that the 2 women in front of me had amazing asses. As I went down the escalator I looked over at the 2 women and couldn't believe how hugely pregnant the one was. I had no idea, so I went back up to get look at her and yep, she was very pregnant in a tight grey dress. I thought I had a good chance at getting a candid. So I took my phone out and got my video camera ready, but they stopped in a store I had no reason to go into. So I tried and walked past the store. When I checked the video all I got was her back, right as I passed though she had turned to her side and I missed literally by micro seconds. I got too nervous doing it the first time I couldn't go back. So I failed.

This type of thing has happened to me also... you find a potential pregnant subject - just perfect for a picture - and you can't get on the right side or she just leaves the area or the stranger next to you strikes up a conversation and you just can't get the shot. Never regret trusting your instinct and not going back. Better to start over than push an iffy situation. Just keep trying.

Yep, that's why I walked away, I knew if I went back and tried again it would look weird. What makes me really mad was I was at another store in line to buy something and it was taking forever. I looked at some people leaving the store and the woman was incredibly pregnant. I was so bummed if I had just left line and walked around, which I was thinking about doing, I would have had a good chance there.
