(May 1, 2020, 11:21 pm)LTKNT101 If he is a tenant at the complex he had every right to hang out at the pool. I'm criticizing him for being completely careless. If the footage he collected ends up posted in here I think it's going a bit too far suggesting his catch should be "called out." If we go down that road we mind as well report on every candid pic thread in here and seek to have the candid section removed. Smh

The problem here is not that he was taking candids. We’ve already had so many discussions about that. However, it is a problem that he went out of his way to videotape or take photos of someone in a private space. Because if the pool is owned by the complex, he’s broken the law because of private property infringement. Sure, photographers have the right in public property. But that pool probably isn’t deemed such if it isn’t open to the general public. That’s the issue. Not candids. The way he went about it and the illegality are the issues here. I thought it was pretty plain to see.

Look at it this way, I can’t go around my apartment taking intimate candid shots of my girlfriend unless she consents. In public, I could do nonsexual ones. In private, you need permission especially if they are deemed sexual. Let’s face it, all candids are jerking material lol. Preggo in a swimsuit. Hot. However, respect is necessary. Perverts, get caught if you can’t see why it is creepy. All I am trying to point out is that peeping on the private pool is the same as a camera catching pics in a woman’s room. Take what you will from that.

LOL, A pool area at an apartment complex and a women's restroom is not the same when it comes to the expectation of privacy. If the dude is a tenant of the complex it was perfectly legal for him to hang out at the pool. Anyone walking by could see her so she really was not in a "private" area. I agree that putting the camera "in her face" making her uncomfortable was bad form on his part. If they gave out candid pic hunter licenses he would have gotten his revoked.

It’s not illegal to hang out there. You’re not getting the full picture. It is most likely illegal to photograph or video the woman there because of how Photographer’s Protection Laws outline public and private spaces. Residential areas are private property. Sure, anyone driving by your house could snap a shot of you changing in the bathroom window. That’s illegal for obvious reasons lol. If you want the law changed, go try. There’s just more to this thread than being stupid while obtaining candids. The more exposure of perverts, the more the whole bunch of us get labeled. Secrecy is key, but don’t go out of your way to break the law and possibly cause trauma to anyone just to get off later.

You don't have to tell me about secrecy. I use spy cam devices for that very reason when I go hunting. If I was at the pool that day no one but me would have known I was recording her.

An insane amount of candids are taken here that avoided making people feel utterly uncomfortable and I’m largely fine with that. Even candids that interact with the target, most hosts bothers to ask and gotten a “consent” and that’s nonetheless still a consent.

In my case the guy stood in front of the woman and filmed regardless of her trying to cover herself with a bathing towel or signaling to her family that she wanted to leave, and for that kind of disrespectful behavior of the ‘cameraman’, I’ll call him out if it’s posted. I’m not waging war on candids.

It’s not the topic of what he’s doing but the fact that he could’ve done it a lot better. And as I said in my original post, it could be illegal in some countries but still not the point of the post.

(April 28, 2020, 11:14 pm)metsjets19 At the end of the day you're in public and you have no privacy so he has the right to do whatever. We all do. Dontike being filmed dont be in public. No matter how creepy it might have he does have the right. Also did you say anything to this person

A. The apartment complex is private

C. Even in public if he was locked in on her, it would still be borderline harrassment and or stalking.    When I was on a ride along with my brother we got called out to deal with  a guy who was recording a group of girls on the train  from when they got on in Philly to their stop in NJ and then he got off at their stop still recording.  I believe he was charged with harrassment and or stalking and  a parole violation.

I don't have beef with candids in fact, they're my favorite part of the site. It's just when people go too far is when it's not my favorite part.
