Don't know if you know this already, but YouTube is updating its terms of service and a lot of people are concerned. (TL;DR Google could terminate your account if you're not "commercially viable".) Personally, I'm not sure what this will mean for people like us using Google Drive. Could Google terminate our accounts for sharing porn? I don't know.

Maybe I'm being paranoid, but I'm backing up all my stuff just in case. What are your thoughts?

This is no different from when they updated their ToS a couple of years back and people worried about it. I doubt anything is going to change.

that won't affect whatsoever. Youtube is a separate company. Google Drive is a totally different thing.

I guess I should clarify: from what I've heard, these ToS seem to give Google license to terminate one's Google account altogether, not just their YouTube account. That means you'll lose access to all of their services, including Google Drive.

Even YouTube themselves have backtracked all of this due to misinterpretation. I would wait until the revised ToS is published. Until then, don't worry about it.

Hate to necro this thread, but Google took down two pictures in my Drive. Out of all the shit in my Drive, these were the two pics that "violated their policy":

Kinda paranoid now...

You've been paranoid since the beginning. At this point, it'd be wise to invest in either offline storage so you can always have backups or invest in a NAS file server.

Lol well, I downloaded everything from the drive last night just in case. But still, I don't like that after years of nothing, Google is randomly deciding that my files are problematic...

Uploading porn to Google was already risky as it is. Sounds like a routine crackdown since other drives have been hit recently as well.
