I've actually been considering building a site/app to connect people via their kinks.

Since discretion is such a big part of it, you'd only see a person's kinks and some basic biographical information at first; no names or photos. You could then mutually consent to sharing ever-increasing levels of information, including of course photos. The point is that you could go at a speed that works for you both. We could also mark photo-verified users so they get the royal treatment.

The focus would be on the kinks in this way because traditional dating sites/apps get it backward when it comes to this stuff; seeing a pretty woman and then reading about her to find she's not at all what I'm looking for is a waste of my time. It needs to be the other way around -- a curated list of potential kink-matches, and then the photos.

I'm fully capable of building such a system. I've taken on much larger challenges in the course of my work. The only problem is time... I have none at all right now and I don't know when that will change. It's very frustrating because I know I could make an impact. Ugh.

I can't make any recommendations regarding mobile apps -- never written one. But if you go that route, you'll be forced into either Java for Android or ... what do they use for iOS now, Swift? I have no idea. When it comes to the web, that's all a matter of personal preference. I'd write it using C# for the backend and JavaScript for the front (of course) because that's what I know. I don't have a strong grasp of the learning curve because I learned to code when I was very young and haven't learned any new languages in over a decade.

I got on Kwink but it was very dead and, at least for my area, seemed pretty skeevy. I don't think there are enough people there for it to be a realistic venue right now. The site's design also smacks strongly of 2005, which won't do much to attract new people.
