Torpedo
Drive has been butchered and MEGA's playback is slower than molasses.

I use two one TB(terrabyte) and one 400GB harddrives for prego content storage. I don't trust cloud storage and I would much rather have easy access to my stuff.

externals. one 3tb LaCie, one 4tb LaCie, and a 500gb portable LaCie.

cloud storage is unreliable, every company eventually closes.

MicroSD cards. My overall collection is only a mere 36GB and I picked up a 200GB microSD back around Black Friday for about $40.

Cloud Services are unreliable and can permanently take down copyrighted content. Mechanical HDDs have a bigger failure rate (lost a 500GB HDD after only 4 months of having it). And while SSDs are a thing, I feel like just putting videos on one instead of an OS is kind of a waste.

I use Allsync. It's really good and you get 50Gb free cloud storage

I dont trust Cloud storages either.
I Use 1 TB Home Server (NAS)
Works great for file sharing over various devices, as well as backup system and organizer...

I have a ~2 TB external drive that I use, and keep a little bit on a google drive (that I never use anyways)

A 480GB SSD. Currently I'm spending the day consolidating all of the loose videos from my drives, phone, Laptop that I've downloading onto the drive, then going through and organizing/deleting stuff that I don't watch anymore. As of now I have 109GB free on the drive, so I went and picked up a 1TB SSD as an eventual upgrade. However the 480GB drive is still at 98% health, and I suspect that I'll still have about 120ish in space after I'm done organizing everything. I don't download too much, however once I only have about 50GB of space left then I'll copy everything to the new drive and use it as a backup. Until then, I might just keep the 1TB in storage as I don't really have plans for it right now.

On the other hand, I also have a 2TB mechanical drive with yellow health that I don't know what to do either. Don't want to toss it, but I'm also not going to store anything of value on it. My main goal is to move all of the content I have stored on both my MEGA and Google Drive onto the SSDs, and just use Google as a backup for my prized gems. Mega is becoming a headache and I'd would rather not keep paying the $6 a month for the storage.

So at in all I'll end up with 2 SSDs, the 480 for the main, the 1TB for secondary backup/potential overflow, and Google for a digital backup for my prized gems since I rather lose the rest of my collection if it means they'll be safe in case of a double SSD failure.

I’ve been using a janky little 64g thumb drive which has actually been really reliable and it limits how much content I can actually store which is nice.

Upon writing this, I’m looking at a 1TB thumb drive lol.

Relying solely on networks is risky for two reasons, one is that you could lose years of data when they change user agreements. Two is that if someone decides to take legal action and finds this group, they could subpoena Google for any drive that has content they want taken down and it could get tricky (Ember B comes to mind).

I think for the second reason for the risk, as long as you don't share the drive or account at all it shouldn't be taken down. A foolish mistake that people make is that they'll have their personal collection AND sharing collection on the same account, so when the sharing one gets taken down their personal one goes too.
