Over the years I have managed to amass a porn collection of around 1 TB. I also have at least 2 other TB of non-porn stuff I wish to backup. I know some storage services are fussy about porn. Also something like automatic sync between local and cloud folders would be nice.
I could get a 4 TB hard drive, but I'd feel more secure if my files were stored in the cloud as they would be more secured against any physical damage to the drive and other accidents. I also cannot predict when my drives would die anyway (have had two of them die on me so far).
So far I'm considering Mega's 4 TB plan.

I wouldn't rely on cloud only, just like I wouldn't rely on local storage only. If your account gets hacked, deleted by the service provider, or you simply can't log in (forgotten password, service provider goes out of business, other issues), or if the service provider removes some of your videos for TOS/copyright violations, you're fucked.

A 4TB hard drive will set you back $100 these days. Buy two - one as a backup - and then do whatever you do in the cloud. That way you're protected all around.

As for cloud storage options, you might look at Backblaze B2. It's more of an enterprise-ish storage solution, but you can also mount it like a normal drive in Windows/Mac. I've got 2.5TB on it and am paying about $14/month.

Yeah, a combination of cloud and physical storage would be best.

I second getting two 4GB drives. A backup for your backup in short. Keep the 2nd HD secure but separate from your computer and the other HD. You can also encrypt if you're worried about them being found/seen.
