See, this is interesting.
I saw a report put out a few years ago about various countries replacement rates, and one of the things they noted was that the biggest factor that determined if a woman was willing to have kids was if she could afford to support more than one (time spent with child to ensure good future outcomes), and if she could take time off work then return to the work force without too many problems.
The shorter time she was allowed off, the less likely, and the more resources the parents had to spend on each child to bring them up to the standard required for good future prospects, the less likely.
This article plays into that a little, with several dancers noting that the enforced time off meaning they can have kids and take time to come back without their careers suffering.
Seems that as long as people can afford to do it, and are allowed the freedom to do so, they are quite willing to have kids, and multiples at that.
