This is standard operating procedure for them. Talk for a day, then ghost. I think they just need the self-esteem boost or something, and once they get that, they're done and you're never hearing from them again.
I learned to stop getting excited about pregnant women (or really any women, let's be honest) who act interested -- to just take it as it goes. That way, I don't get bummed out when it flops shortly after.
Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it. If it's meant to be, it will happen. If not, there's not much you can do about it. So, if you can afford it, hire an escort and save yourself the headache and heartache.
