Now, I've actually been holding onto this picture (for non-masturbation purposes, I just can't bring myself to) for a few years now and I wasn't sure about posting it because I didn't want to seem THAT tackless (especially since my uncle would've died in the attacks if he hadn't been fired from his job in the North Tower just weeks before), but I've decided to chance it because it's been 19 years and I recently came across an interview with the woman who had her photo taken and found it interesting reading. The reason her expression was so nonchalant was because she was an amateur pilot at the time and apparently thought that attacks were just an accident (apparently it's a common risk with flying in major cities) and the true nature of what happened didn't become obvious until later. Because I was only a very young boy at the time and have very hazy memories of the actual event, but have a very vivid memory of its aftermath, I've never really been able to wrap my head around it. The 9/11 attacks for me have always been... well exactly that, an attack. The notion that this was once misinterpreted by people who were in New York that very day as a minor accident has always been difficult to understand.

But anyway, yeah that's my two cents on the matter. Mods, if you think this conversation is inappropriate for this site and decide to remove it, I fully understand. Please know that I'm not doing this with the intention of shocking or making a joke out of it.
