Amusing how so many people here claim to hate to talk about politics, yet all it took was a post about a video game character's haircut to trigger another debate.

(June 23, 2020, 12:21 pm)LTKNT101 I guess some of you are not aware of whats happening to movies in Hollywood. Anyone seen Terminator Dark Fate? Birds Of Prey? The most recent Charlie's Angels? What do those films have in common? SJW woke agenda. They also all flopped hard at the box office. The same politics are being shoved into all forms of media including video games. All of the reviews for the Last Of Us 2 are bad. I'm not the only one that hates this load of crap.

Terminator Dark Fate:

Budget: 196 million USD

Box-Office: 261 million USD

Birds of Prey

Budget: 100 million USD

Box Office: 201 million USD

Charlie's Angels

Budget: 55 million USD

Box Office: 73 million USD

A movie has to make twice its budget to just break even.  Both Charlie's Angels and T: Dark Fate ARE flops.  Birds of Prey just barely broke even.  While, I don't agree with everything LTK says, he's right on this point.  There has been a concerted effort to inject progressive politics in the television, movies, games, comics and other media.  Not the men and women can be equal and we all have flaws to overcome kind.  More like the radical feminist, men are evil oppressors and need to broken down kind of progressiveism.  Story telling and developing interesting characters take a back seat to the political message.  Dark Fate is a perfect example of this.  SPOILER ALERT, John Connor is killed in the beginning of the movie.  Not just killed but, killed in a casual way like he was some unimportant character.  This man was THE important figure in the Terminator movies.  To kill him in such a fashion and make a woman the savior of humanity, makes the movie's message pretty clear.

Media, traditionally has been somewhat progressive over the years.  Star Trek TOS is one example.  Their brand of politics was always about how humanity can be better and to overcome our differences through understanding and dialog.  That prejudice is a HUMAN flaw now just black vs white.  That men AND women make important contributions to society that BOTH should be celebrated.  It wasn't about tearing one sex down to uplift another.
Thank you my friend. Get Woke Go Broke is real and the sooner these media studios accept this the better off they will be.

You guys are such snowflakes. You just can’t accept any sort of change to the archetypes you learned growing up. I don’t expect anyone is here to learn, but your paranoia is not healthy.

There’s pushes for progressivism and conservatism in all forms of media. I don’t really get bothered by it. Just seems like some do. I don’t really see the point of either extremes as the generic socially liberal and fiscally conservative asshole everyone hears about lol. I feel like this is more of a negative based just on how females look in a game and apparently “how they’re supposed to look“.

Standards of beauty change as often as the weather does throughout history. I just find it ironic for someone who is upset about being criticized for liking BBWs, LTK, while he does the same when women look too boyish for him. Everyone’s got their preferences. I don’t really care about the discussion unless people get hostile. I find it too frequent on the forum anymore that people get hostile over simple stuff like this.

I judge a game more on all things it encompasses and contains instead of just a few details in how characters look. I played the first game, and enjoyed it. But I just didn’t have an interest for this one. Still as a gamer, I’ll look at whatever news or gossip about new releases.

I think one of the reasons there's been such an effort to infuse pre-established franchises with feminist/"SJW" messages is that they know that making original works that push said agenda likely won't sell. Unfortunately, most of the time they're so focused on the message that they neglect the overall quality of the work. They believe that simply having feminist characters/themes will be enough.

However, It's not impossible for something with a feminist message to be good. I believe that Mad Max: Fury Road is a feminist film, and, whether you like the feminist undertone or not, it's still a damn good movie regardless. Plus, I've seen plenty of movies with female protagonists, action or otherwise, that are great.

That’s why I like the term, Passive Progressive lol. Coined by RedLetterMedia in their Star Wars reviews. Shove in two lesbians kissing for two seconds, and job done for them. The Progressive stuff can sell better, but we saw that the Ghostbusters remake was just a foolish attempt at a cash-grab with shitty jokes and piss poor ad-lib improv.

I wonder how Conan the Barbarian would look if it got another reboot...

I prefer creativity instead of fully committing to any agenda in a game. It’s escapism like I said earlier. Let the movies be those types of political pieces, I say. Games should just be compelling without having the predisposition of furthering politics, and I still think most don’t do this yet. However, it can still be found.

First of all, I don't care what people think about what I like. They can call me gross for liking big women all they want and I won't get mad at them. The point I'm making here is I'm attracted to females that look like females. I'm sorry but the Butch lesbo look is not my thing. I'm not into pubescent teenage boys.

I don’t like that look either, @LTKNT101 , but some here might and also want to discuss other characters as well. It just seems like debating more about this is just going to lead to more arguments. I enjoy games based on the broad amount of content it has to offer, not just nitty-picky details like some females with a more masculine appearance. Like I said earlier, it isn’t reasonable or necessary to have all the characters each be the epitome of their gender/orientation. Complex characters with individual and unique design are much more compelling to me.

I’d imagine all women in an apocalypse wouldn’t be able to access all the luxuries we have right now. Makes it more immersive.

So my post about George Floyd gets taken down for being political, yet this one gets to stay up?
