What is the average teenage pregnancy rate in the country that you reside in? Right now, my country has one of the highest rates of such phenomena in Asia, which is more concerning than it would arouse me. Here's one of the news sources regarding that:

I've got to say, the government is really taking this problem seriously for years now. I'd also remark that some of those teenage girls have, let's just say, less than average in intelligence and even have the gall to promote such early entry into parenthood. which is a yikes for me.  Angry

I'd say it has to do probably with the income gap. I believe less rich countries or parts of a country are more susceptible to this kind of stuff. You can look at some states in the US and be like, "Wow that's a pretty high rate." But there could be some that become moms at like 17 or 18 or 19 and they might be recording those too.

I think in alot of places there is really nothing for kids to do but fuck. When I was in my teens I would play in a tournament every year in Upstate NY, and basically most of the drive through rual parts of Pennsylvania and NY you would see alot of girls 14,15,16 pregnant.

Now, in our place, there are several factors that would really make the average rate one of the highest in Asia, and that would be our culture, religion, and perception of sex in mass media, which are all distorted and unhealthy in my opinion: our family culture forbids the discussion of sex, even if it's serious, the predominant religion, Roman Catholicism, is pro-life and disapproves of contraception methods and abortions, and the mass media portrayal of sex here is more like a casual form of entertainment, not a sacred or serious commitment as I would hope. So yeah, it's kinda like Latin America when you think about it. Dodgy

Like you mention they are promoting it and that is a problem. I can say right now in America single mothers are celebrated by a good portion of this country like they are superheroes for no reason at all.

Taking care of a child when you yourself is still a child is not small feat. Add the problems of puberty, school, peer-pressure, and it makes sense why teen mothers are treated good. It's better than treating them like sluts with no future.

Its an interesting take from the social economic standpoint of things. I agree with @Bellyfan27 here where the income gap plays a large factor, but a few others I can point out are religious upbringing and social circle. Here in the States, I can easily say most teen pregnancies happen either in the South or Mid-Western part of the country, but that's only based on my knowledge from the reality shows about the subject (not the best source) or from the accents I hear from teen moms on YouTube, TikTok, etc. Granted, every state on our end has the statistic, with some states having higher than others. I mean, each and every one of our states is like a small country alone, so you can go further and deeper by looking at cities and counties.

The three major factors I see playing out with the rise or fall of teen pregnancy is public opinion (praising or holding teen mothers at a higher level), economy (whether rich families and better schooling contribute to it), or the overall education provided (i.e. zero chance of finding a pregnant teen in a Princeton High School).

@TacoTamale.    I agree 100%.  The very girl I first had sex with was pregnant at 14.  She is now a police officer.

@jbtaco4321 there is a big difference between single moms and teen moms.  Sometimes women decide to be single moms by choice.  There is mom at my school like that.

I grew up about 20 minutes from Princeton Big Grin .   But I do agree and do think envorment as well plays a factor, if there is more stuff to do there is less tempting to fuck.  I think if you take a look at a state like NY, I would bet the highest % of the babies born to 12-17 year olds are in upstate in the middle of nowhere and not in the NYC area.  We always stopped at a Friendly's in the middle of nowhere NY when I was playing in a box tournament in high school and would always see  girls 14-15 pregnant.    My wife said if she didn't leave the Rez that she might have wound up pregnant as a teenager.

1 thing that could contribute to rates is: YouTube & IG. IT'S funny when they say "what's in my hospital bag" like it's there's. We all know the teens don't pay for the ultrasounds, maternity clothes & baby stuff & the baby showers is just a way for them to get out of paying for gifts. Those teen mom shows are not helping. There's 1 woman Infollow who literally hid her pregnancy from her parents and her boyfriend & she lied to everyone & said "I got pregnant at 16 on purpose." Now they are divorced & she has 2 kids & lives with her friend who also is divorced with 2 kids.

Teens think that they can do it when they cant. Their parents are too soft & let them keep the kids when they shouldnt. Why dont the parents just tell them "you can't keep the kids!" Or "If you want to keep the kid then you can't live here or with any family or friends!" That would make them think. They can't affors the monthly bills. Teens who get pregnant are likely to do it again until who knows when. I follow 1 girl who is 22 with 5 kids. 1 girl who is 21 with 3 kids & still no degree. There's a girl on YT who got pregnant 4 times & is poor now as a result.

Once a girl dates a guy, pregnancy is unavoidable-> it's not "if" but "when", it will happen at anytime. Birth control isn't as effective as they say. They lie to you. If something has over 6K stories or examples of it failing then that means the product is defeftive and needs to be taken off the shelves. Birth control has a higher fail rate than a kid skipping school. Condoms don't work either. It's a joke to get your $. There's more cases of Birth control & condoms not working than there are cases of when they do work. They fail literally 85% of the time. 80% of every country's population is due to unplanned pregnancies.
