It's Family Guy, what'd you expect? Besides Brian dying and coming back most stories begin and conclude within the same episode. The only continuity is Peter getting a new boss/job everytime the old one dies or gets replaced.

If it's possible, I wouldn't mind seeing a compilation of all of Meg's pregnancy scenes from that episode.

I watched this episode last night to say it was not. It was not well-planned out would be an understatement; it seemed like they were trying to make it funny, but the topic itself was too serious, and even having Peter going on a Meth binge fell flat unlike the episode of American Dad, where Francine became a surrogate for a gay couple, it was handled well.
