Never used the site. I suspect a replacement will come around, it always does. Nothing lasts forever.

Don’t get too excited. According to the statement OnlyFans released on Twitter they have suspended the changes that were going to go into affect in October. This means they have put them on hold for now but that doesn’t mean they won’t implement them at a later time. I think they are buying themselves time to get an alternative revenue source in place. Once that happens we may see the ban on spicy content return.

(August 26, 2021, 1:20 am)Thechickenlawyer There are more people doing porn than people in the workplace. That resulted in a shortage of workers.
Do you have a source for this? Because call me crazy, but I'm thinking sex workers make up the tiniest fraction of workers in the US.

(August 26, 2021, 1:20 am)Thechickenlawyer Those "low paying jobs" is what parents thought we would do when we get older.
Are you sure? Because everyone I know was encouraged to go get graduate degrees so that they wouldn't get stuck in dead-end jobs.

(August 26, 2021, 1:20 am)Thechickenlawyer Eventually businesses will take their signs down when they notice that no one is coming. They are too positive. I literally went to some Targets, Best Buys & other places.. showed the managers the porn sites & said "the reason why no one is applying bc theu are doing porn. No one will apply. Get used to this & rising prices!" The managers thanked me & walked away pissed & cursing.
That is literally the free market economy: eat or be eaten. This is no longer good?

(August 26, 2021, 1:20 am)Thechickenlawyer Companies want to make more money & have more workers.. people have NO PROBLEM hanging out in public,  eating in places & going to amusement parks yet they don't want to work in places they visit? Sound odd¿ companies should do like hunters: get rid of the animals habitat & the animals will be out in the open. 1 person in a meeting could say "you buy 1 of the porn sites (OF, fansly, Manyvids & some of Patreon) & when all the sites are shut down there will be more workers available. " so that's what the companies should do. With no sites available they would be forced to do those jobs.

Those "low paying jobs" is what keeps the country running. No workers=no companies= oh shit! Sex workers can be blamed for the way things are! There are more people doing porn than people in the workplace. That resulted in a shortage of workers. The country can't continue like that 4 long. Would you wanna pay 10$ for a bag of snacks? 8$ for a soda? 20$ for 2 small pieces of raw meat? Eventually everything will keep rising until people have had enough.

Those "low paying jobs" is what parents thought we would do when we get older. Work hard, train, pass classes & hold a degree or certification in our hands at graduation. Not strip for idiots that might not be 18. Everyone is hiring but porn is too good & not worth leaving. Eventually businesses will take their signs down when they notice that no one is coming. They are too positive. I literally went to some Targets, Best Buys & other places.. showed the managers the porn sites & said "the reason why no one is applying bc theu are doing porn. No one will apply. Get used to this & rising prices!" The managers thanked me & walked away pissed & cursing.

To the guy above me.. you can do porn, just pretend to be gay & you will get $. Do what it takes to get money. I am 1 of 12 people in a company.. I only got a big ass bonus & more time off cus they hope more people will come. Once the boss found out that more people are into porn & won't do regular jobs.. everyone got more $ & he said things about what he wishes he could do to sex workers.
Do you know how many people despise the porn industry and are doing everything they can to get rid of it? Clearly, not everyone is leaving their jobs and rushing to take their clothes off on video. You are linking the porn industry to a problem with no facts or data to support it.

Some critics that hate sex workers have a chip on their shoulders because they can not stand seeing people make big money while not doing "real" work. Again, I submit to you that Covid and the so-called Delta Variant are to blame for the staff shortages companies are dealing with. There are limits on how many people a company can have on-site at any given time. Some people are too afraid to work inside around others. All of this is because of the pandemic.

Obviously, porn being at fault is your personal opinion and of course, we all are allowed to have opinions about things. However, some opinions are certifiably misguided.

I have an FAA Part 107 Certificate. This nifty little card proudly declares that I can legally make money in the USA by flying small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS, or drones to you civilians.) However, I am currently *NOT* flying drones. Want to know why? Because the vast majority of jobs that I can find that aren't Northrop Grumman or General Atomics (IE, linked directly to Government / Department of Defense UAS programs) fall into one of the following categories (and more often multiple)

1: Not full time.
Sorry, I'm looking for a Full Time Job. I'm not looking for part time, on call, gig work type stuff. There are people who CAN make a living off of that, but I am not one of them. And given the amount of listings that I've seen for the same companies, for YEARS, no one else wants it either. Basically, UBER but for drones. Fuck that shit.

2: They aren't looking for a drone operator.
These listings are, IMHO, the absolute WORST.
"We need you to know how to work a multimeter, be able to troubleshoot, have experience with design and fabrication - " Hold up you little shit. You want someone that can help you design, test, and build your drones. You don't want a pilot, you want an R&D guy who can ALSO fly it.
"Needs to be familiar with GIS, TRIMBLE GPS, a few other things I can't remember off the top of my head and I'm not going to look up for this post." Fuck off, asswipe: You're looking for a LICENSED SURVEYOR who also *HAPPENS* to have a drone license.
They all market themselves as "Drone Operator" or "UAS Pilot" but when you dig into the requisite qualifications, they don't want a pilot. They want a Specialist who can also fly. False fucking advertising.

3: They don't pay enough.

Right now I live in Central Texas. I drive concrete mixer trucks: those commercial vehicles with the spinning drum on the back. Starting pay for my company for a brand new mixer driver is $19/hour. Why the fuck am I going to take a position for $14/hr?

Yes, I know this discussion started off on Onlyfans and the Porn ban, but it's devolved into an economic discussion. And that's where I'm putting in my $0.02 USD. I know my value. I know the cost of living in my area. I know the CoL in and around major cities like Houston, Austin, DFW, etc is higher than what I'm currently experiencing. People aren't taking all of these shit jobs because they are that" shit jobs. The job itself may be all fine and well, but when the compensation for your hard work is shit, the job is shit. The pandemic has highlighted, in ways never before seen, how much of a shit economy the US has when a single individual working 40+ hours can barely support themselves, much less a family? Oh yeah, the stock market is doing terrific? Fuck the Stock Market. Most Americans I know have nothing to do with the Stock market outside of some company sponsored 401K that could go tits up just as easily as anything else.

The reason people aren't taking these jobs is because THEY CAN'T FUCKING LIVE OFF OF THEM. Not without devoting more than the 40 hrs a week that qualifies as a "full time job." What's the cutoff? 50 hours? 60? how aobut 70 hours a week, 6 days a week? Do you like going home to your family? Do you like having a full fucking weekend to relax and unwind after busting your balls all week? Yeah, good luck with that, when you're spending 12+ hours a day at work, at least 5 days a week. Some people have 2 jobs just to make ends meet, or both parents in a household work.

And just for your information, being in the construction industry, I don't have a day off on Saturday. It might be a half day of work (7-8 hours.) Oh, by the way: by Texas DoT regulations I can work up to 15 hours a day, and am only *REQUIRED* to be given 8 hours OFF THE CLOCK before my next driving shift. So far this week, I've clocked 50 hours. In 4 days. Doesn't leave much room for a social or family life. But, I'm single and I spend a lot of my time online, if I'm awake enough or have enough time between shifts. The *ONLY* reason I haven't left this job is because I haven't found another one that I'm qualified for that pays anywhere near the same rate, but with less hours per week.

Pay people a living wage - something that you can reasonably sustain yourself off of for a week's work (40-50 hours over 5 days) for the area your employees work in (and therefore it's reasonable to presume they live in as well.) It's not because of porn. It's because of the fact that companies have gotten used to not raising wages to match inflation for fucking DECADES. And the cost of goods and services has ALSO outstripped inflation for DECADES. The greedy fuckers at the top - and even in the middle - are starting to finally see the fruits of their ill-gotten gains: people won't take jobs when said jobs won't reasonably sustain fucking existing.

Fuck off with the whole "porn is why people won't work" angle. It's complete bullshit. The problem is far larger than "porn did it" and far more complicated.

By the way, here's a fantastic clip about a bank CEO being taken to ropes about the starting pay his company offers his employees.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WLuuCM6Ej0

I wouldn't go to work at that bank. They don't pay enough for a starting employee to live off of, even without a child. Rent, utilities, food, clothes, transportation. If the basic pay, at 40 hours a week can't cover those 5 items, it's a shit job. if I have to slave away for 50-60 hours just so the overtime can make ends meet, it's a shit job. Employers better figure out how to pay more, or rightfully go out of business because no one wants to work at a place that they can't sustain their own lives with. And on top of that, if you don't earn enough to more than make ends meet (have a little surplus after your Life Sustainment Expenses are taken care of) then why work there? If I can't afford to go out to eat at a fancy restaurant once a month .... hell, we all know people who smoke or drink alcohol. Gotta pay for that somehow. I play video games: I need to pay for my internet, as well as any electronic entertainment I enjoy. How can I buy those things when shit jobs won't even pay me enough to fucking *LIVE*?

Porn has long had a vocal minority who are morally opposed to the industry, even though selling sexual services in one form or another has got to be the oldest profession known to the human race. People have been decrying porn for decades. It's got absolutely nothing to do with the current US "We can't attract new employees!" crisis.

BOOM!

I have to admit, I wasn’t expecting to find something like this here, but this is spot on and very well said, too.

Basically, I’m glad n agreement and my hat is off to you for the strength of your argument.

Onlyfans basically shot themselves in the foot with this debacle. Not only will investors not be interested, many models have already applied for competitors.
