Paradox
I only watched a bit of the show due i got attention on the pregnancy bits and fast forward through the first 2 episodes. (Few weeks ago) and waited here see if people found more.
But what i saw alone was enough.
Have to agree with what people said already. So i wont add much except that I just cannot believe that HBO dropped something like "Infinity train" for Velma.

Worse even, the amount of bad reviews actually got so many people to watch it that it could still make HBO finance a 2nd season of this abonimation!

They don’t care about the ratings. They were going to make this a two season deal no matter how poorly received it was. I feel like now they are in a position of defiance. They want to trigger more bad press and keep the hate watching going.

YouTubers will have something to make videos about as long as “Velma” continues to trend for how bad it is. It’s a brilliant scheme when you think about it from that point of view.

(February 5, 2023, 6:22 am)LTKNT101 The term “hate watching” suggests that the people who are watching this train wreck are not doing so because they are willing to give it a chance. We are well past the point for that. The hate watchers are doing so to see how more bonkers the writing is going to get.

“Velma” was DOA the moment the first trailer dropped. Even before that I knew it was going to be garbage when I learned it was a Mindy Kaling self insert hijacking of the Scooby Doo IP.

If a group of people take to Reddit and claim a steaming turd gets better the longer it sits in the sun that’s certainly their opinion and the are entitled to it. However that doesn’t change the fact that the turd is still a turd.

So hate watchers are going to bitch and moan about how toxic and horrible a show is, while still watching it to see how bad it gets, then be baffled and confused on how it'll get a second season? At that point, you're not hate watching when you're enjoying the show at the end. Even people who use the "I only watch it for the pregnant character" excuse is in the same boat. It's cut and dry that you either watch it or don't.

And it's apparently not DOA when the previous mentioned is still watching for the sake of criticising. Any publicity is good publicity, and apparently no one has learned from all the other critically panned shows that premiered before and ended up lasting as long.

According to you. Everything is subjective so remember that.

“Velma being DOA means it never had a chance to be good because it was made intentionally divisive. The low scores on Rotten Tomatoes from both the critics and the audience are what I consider to be this show’s death certificate. There is no justification for anyone to defend something this terrible.

“Velma” belongs in the same barn fire Santa Inc was tossed into on Rotten Tomatoes.

Again, everything is subjective so remember that. And you're honestly going to base your opinons on what others think? To use public opinion as a base for your own is not only sad, but is directionless. And who are you to continue criticizing the people who are defending the show while you yourself is following the hivemind? God forbid some DOES like the show yet you're trying to shut them down just because you felt the need to remain close-minded to the fact.

(February 3, 2023, 1:06 am)MJSimmons Ah, this is what I get for not having HBO/MAX to watch the whole series.
Mate, be lucky you don’t have HBO Max. Trust me you don’t need to burn valuable brain cells on a stupid cartoon that is universally panned. The preggo is gone and with her went any reason for us to follow the show.
You guys know that she pretended to be dead right?

Or they could just cancel the show and pretend it never existed.
