so, kinda new here, but...i figured this would be one of the few places i could share this story where people might actually appreciate it. it has a fair few ups and downs, but i'll try and keep it concise.
i've known i've had a fetish for pregnancy since i was about 12-13. i'm currently 26, and now working as a professional tailor/fashion designer. during this last year of school, i had a amazing experience. for the school's annual show, each student must design a piece inspired by a particular theme. this year was a sculpture in the local museum. i wasn't feeling that inspired, until we got the list of models. most of the models were other students from different departments. there was one girl, i often saw her around but never really spoke to her much. she was young, 18 at the time, and very petite (about 5" tall, and generally dressed very cutsey.
) when i saw her in the model book, my heart nearly stopped. there was a sticky note added to her page: "do not select, model is pregnant". i was shocked that this would have happened to someone who seemed to be the picture of innocence, but at the same time...inspiration struck. i couldn't pass up an opportunity like this. it took several hours of gathering my nerves, but i messaged her, asking if she would want to model for me. after some discussion, she said yes! i tried my best to work outside the classroom for measurements and fittings, because i knew my professors would not want me working with her, because "it's too hard to work with a growing body". we got to know each other better. she was really introverted and didn't have many friends, so i'd often stay with her after class to keep her company while she worked on her own homework. we got to be pretty close, and i'd often buy her lunch, generally doing everything i could to be supportive and take care of her. i found out the baby's father was a one-night stand, and i knew the guy. i can't say he was a pedo, but...well, how young she looked factored heavily into his interest in her...
anyways, of course eventually it comes out to everyone who i'm working with for the show. most of the teachers and my classmates were...not very supportive. cue lots of jokes about "what if she goes into labour on stage??" (the show was at the start of may, she was due at the end)
around this time, i introduced her to another friend of mine, and that...is where things went south for me. she and this other friend became very close, and the last i heard are dating now. well, i got in a fight with my model's new girlfriend, and that's where she made her decision to drop out of the show and side with her gf. they both basically cut me out overnight, and i was left in a mess...my design was finished, but there was no way i could find someone else of the same size to model it in time...or so i thought. by sheer luck, one of our TAs introduced me to one of her models from the previous year. she was dissapointed she wouldn't be modelling after so many years because of her pregnancy. and it just happens she was almost the exact same size height as my first model. i was worried about overstepping my boundaries like i had the first time (part of why she left; she felt i was trying to step in to be a father figure, when she was not interested in a relationship with a man. which...was not clearly demonstrated based on certain things that happened...)
my new model was a total sweetheart, and her husband was a really cool guy too. she was perfectly comfortable with the outfit, despite it being slightly revealing, and while i was being respectful, there was plenty of welcome belly rubs too.
after the show, despite not placing in the competition, i got several requests for custom maternity wear dresses, since there's literally no one else in this area that makes matwear, especially not the way i do. (all my pieces are designed to adjust and grow with the wearer, using elastics, corset lacing, or opening pleats). if anyone is interested in seeing the rest of the photos from the show, here is the link: https://sta.sh/29cbcqq3r1l?edit=1
TL;DR. i met a pregnant model for work, almost became a father, and then got to work with another cute preggo model :3 )
