Anybody know any girls who've been pregnant for longer than normal (preferably with pictures/video)? I know with modern medicine and doctors it rare for women to go over 42 weeks, but man even just hearing 44 weeks is arousing.

There is an episode of Law and Order CI, and the suspect had been pregnant for 30 years.  (Basically the baby stopped growing and she never had it removed, weather or not that can happen in real life I have no idea)

I have an aunt who actually went 43 weeks, but I don’t really talk to her. She isn’t the type to support modern medicine, which is why she went so far overdue.

Any woman who follows the advice of their doctor isn't going to make it much past 42 weeks.

I have been picking up this recent scientific theory of which a woman's ability to maintain a pregnancy doesn't lie on if the baby's head is going to fit in her open cooch (it's also a valid theory, but there's more than meets the eye) but rather their basal metabolic rate (BSL), which is egghead talk for how much energy an organism consumes when at rest. Unborn babies are a huge drain in the mother's resources, so when the BSL of a preggo reaches a critical threshold, it should in theory signal the mother's body to begin preparations for an eventual birth.

Going with this presumption, you guys are thinking what I'm thinking?

From what I remember, the placenta starts to deteriorate after 42-ish weeks. So pregnancy can't really get much farther than that unless you get lucky with some genetics.

Hormonal changes can indeed influence the placenta's input of oxygen and nutrients and the output of waste products, but I figure that the baby itself has become too energy-intensive for the placenta to keep going, and also correlates with the theory of basal metabolic rates influencing when the baby gets to come out.
