Hi guys!

I have been wondering - where do you guys keep your downloaded videos?
Cloud drives can usually provide us with 15GB max, while I'd like to store like hundreds or thousands of GB...

What I want to create on my computer is a folder to store preggoporn, which would be protected by password. If the user doesn't know the password, he wouldn't see anything about that folder, like names of the files/folders inside...

Is it possible to create such a TOP SECRET folder?

I don't password protect the folders, just the PC itself has a password. If you can find the content on my PC then all power to you, I'll be impressed.

If it's your own computer, then I don't see a reason to make it top secret since no one else is going to use it.

But anyways I keep mine on an external SSD, and once in a while I'll clone it to an off-site backup. I have a ton of paid and custom videos that I might as well invest into keep from ever losing it.

Want it encrypted or just password protected? Because if you want something encrypted and password protected then I'd recommend Veracrypt for that purpose.

Windows doesn't have a built-in method of password protecting folders, and you need at least the pro version to encrypt archives natively. The easiest way would be to make a password protected .zip archive with 7-zip; a file compression program that's available for free.

I also found an article with some alternative methods, like making a batch file to ask for a password.

Would this suit your needs?

You could go the route of encrypting an entire drive. That gives it a password and encrypts its contents. Windows includes this ability and it's called Bitlocker. Right-click on the drive and select "Turn on Bitlocker".

If I was trying to do what you're aiming for, I'd buy a fresh USB drive (thumb, external, whatever) and enable Bitlocker. External drives are super cheap these days, maybe $75 for 2TB.

I have a external 4TB hard drive that is a little larger than a pack of playing cards. ($100 +- at Best Buy) It holds everything I want with room to spare. I live alone so I leave it connected all the time, but if I'm going to have guests I just unplug it and leave it in my sock drawer or something.
Also, I have hired a fiduciary to handle my affairs if I'm incapacitated or die. My first instruction to them is to come to my house, collect that hard drive, and destroy it. It's a bit heavy handed, but I don't want my family to find it.

Thank you guys!

jfingers' idea is the best. I live with my parents and brother, that might be the reason to plug the drive in when I am going to use that data.
I could keep it in a lockable box I have Big Grin
