I was on vacation for a week but didn't dare to make candids so I just counted how many Preggos I saw!
Here is a chart i made:

So i saw a total number of 27 Preggos (Probably some more or less - maybe some just looked pregnant or others werent showing belly yet)

How about you, do you also find it difficult to make candids - or what do you do when you do it and get caught?

I mean - I'm not sure what i would think if someone just took pictures of me - If i would do candids i would censor at least the face.

Candids are pretty easy if you use your head

I think it really depends on where you are and how many people are around. One of the workers at the gym I go to is currently pregnant, she wears a tight polo shirt and black yoga pants all the time, it’s hot af, I want to get pics but there’s always others around and cameras everywhere.

My advice to anyone aspiring to become a candid pic hunter is DO NOT USE YOUR SMARTPHONE! Especially if you are in a place that has security cameras. The only exception to this would be if you are capturing footage from a location that provides proper cover such as the inside of your vehicle in a parking lot or looking out the window of your residence.

A candid pic hunter’s best tool is a hidden camera also known as a spy camera. These covert cameras are tiny and are embedded in items such as baseball caps, writing pens, wrist watches, sunglasses, water bottles and even teddy bears.

I prefer to use the wrist watch variety designed to look like those fit bit devices. Spy cams will allow you to capture targets out in the open without the threat of getting caught. eBay or Amazon are good sources to obtain them and they are reasonably priced.

99% of those cams either have shitty quality, requires an app to even function (so you'll still have your phone out), or flat out don't work. Not to mention any decent quality spy cam is going to cost you a few hundred dollars if you want smartphone quality results.

The spy cam I have requires no app and no need for a phone. All I have to do is hold down the record button for a couple of seconds. It vibrates 3 times to indicate it is operating. When I'm done recording I press the record button again to stop it. To view the footage I connect the watch to my computer via USB connection. Open the video file and click each clip to open them. From here I can transfer the files to a folder on my desktop for editing. The quality is what you can expect from smartphones and for the purposes of candid hunting, it is more than good enough. As for the price, It was only $27.99 for 1080p HD 32G.

Indeed some spy cams require an app that allows you to view and operate them on your phone and some are expensive. All anyone shopping for one needs to do is look for the affordable ones and make sure they are 1080p HD quality. Most of these devices have been reviewed by people on YouTube so if you want to check out the spy cam you select before you purchase it, copy and paste the model name on YouTube and see if someone has reviewed it.

I’ll just stick to my trap phone, it’s much easier. Especially since it’s normal to carry a phone in hand and to look at it. You know like a prop to blend in.

At that point I'm better off just using my phone instead of fiddling with a hit or miss camera. Especially when some of the best looking candids on here are from them. Also this will sound snobbish, but we can do a whole lot better than 1080p nowadays. Also the chance of you getting in trouble for having your phone out in a place with lots of cameras is pretty low. You're not in school so they can't confiscate it. And those who do get caught are those ones with poor methods. There's plenty of apps that'll record with the screen off or with the phone halfway sticking out your pocket.

Using a spy cam is not difficult. Press one button to start recording and you can walk around hands-free and completely immune to detection. You can get closer to targets than you could with a phone. You can even engage a target with conversation and she'll be completely oblivious that you are capturing her on your spy device.

Phones are not my preferred tool of the trade. If other hunters are skilled enough to use them and avoid detection more power to them.

So it's less of "Don't use a smartphone, you'll get caught" and more of "I'm using a spy cam because of preference".

The type of method that you use isn't the main point here, it's if you feel comfortable taking candids of others knowing that someone else can have footage of you.
