Lol 2-3 kids max? I've got eight siblings, yes all same parents, we're one of the "smaller" families around here

@ DarthKomar my dad had 15 siblings (including 5 sets of twins), also from the same parents.

Most people (in the USA) can't afford that many children these days. One child is already a significant financial burden for most households.

Yeah, families average less than 2.5 children worldwide and less than 2 in the US, but go ahead and lol at us, I guess.

(January 26, 2020, 5:07 pm)Akhenaten Of course we can have happy, healthy relationships! 100%! Just figure out what works for you.
You might find yourself in a bit of a pickle if you stick with the strict, "traditional" monogamous husband-wife stuff, though (and the divorce rate, at least in the USA, was over 50% last time I checked!). More and more people these days are finding that monogamy doesn't make a lot of sense for them, so polyamory is becoming quite a bit more common. As long as you've discussed everything with your partner(s) and are always keeping the lines of communication open, you can find ways to satisfy all your needs and desires. Often we can't get everything from one partner, and that's okay... it's kind of cruel and unrealistic to expect someone to be everything to us in the first place.
I have been polyamorous for quite a few years now and, as a result, have managed to successfully sidestep the conundrum of "how do I have a girlfriend/wife/whatever but also play with pregnant women?" And there are other benefits...
Yeah polyamory has some merit to it especially looking at the ample evidence of ancient human civilisations. But modern civilisation has monogamy as a fundamental part of it, hence I can't quite grasp the concept of polyamory in its full form. What of accidental pregnancies involving third parties, and/or STI's? On top of the whole taboo aspect and the low chances of meeting someone open to it.

The woes of taking anecdotal evidence as facts..
But perhaps he lives in a different culture and if he has the means to have and care for a large family, then good for him.

I feel like these are rhetorical questions, so I'm not going to hijack the thread by extolling the virtues of polyamory and how I've made it work for me and my needs. However, if anyone's interested, PM me and I'll be happy to discuss. There are simple solutions to all the concerns raised here!

Actually, I think this is the key issue. Our fetish is the most expensive one on earth, and even if you had a partner (or a series of them) who shared the feeling, you would drive yourselves into lifelong poverty.

Indeed. Or you can be like me and have absolutely zero interest in parenting a human child, which also makes the whole endeavor kinda tough!
