Decided to make this thread as there is interest in discussing what we think makes a good birth video. There have been too many non video related posts in the Labor/Birth Vids Thread. Please post in this thread if you would like to give your opinions on what makes a good birth vid.

-an uncomfortable car ride
-Saying things like 'so much pressure'
-being told not to push yet
-long slow crowning w/ head going back a lot
-lots of groaning/screaming
-being told/yelled to push harder

-no obnoxious music, or a slideshow etc.
-little to no intervention (epidural, episiotomy, c-section)
-(obviously) no younger family members running around

Birth videos and labour videos in general aren’t usually my cup of tea, but in my opinion the best ones are when you can actually see the baby being born (i.e crowning). If I do wanna watch a birth video I don’t wanna see a preggo woman just roleplaying and making over exaggerated moans as she pretends to be in labour.

Bonus points if you see the water break too, but again, rare.

able to capture the moment of water breaking would be really great

The best videos for me are the ones where:

Mom is completely naked
Her vagina is hairy
Preferably she's on her back with her legs spread but I enjoy any position as long as we see her crowning
She's vocal (deep moans, grunts, screams)
There's a big gush of fluids
Absolute bonus if she's slightly older too (40+)

Actually seeing the crowning
Keeping her belly in the shots
Fully nude is always a plus
Hearing her scream things like "Get it out!"

I like births where the mothers make it look fast, easy and efficient, where they look like they've done it before. As little suffering as possible.

Multiples births and unassisted births are my next picks.
