Remember, Daily Mail is out to maximize viewership just like any other newspaper or magazine, online or offline. If they truly thought there was something wrong with photos of pregnant bellies, they wouldn't have published them themselves!

Here is the thing that really irritates me, "oh those pictures were personal,-(post stuff on facebook)" i am not condoning what that user did, but people need to understand if something is posted on the internet( it is not personal) facebook, instagram, and youtube can be accessed by anyone. Logically if you dont want something viewed by alotta people DONT POST IT ON THE INTERNET, simple.

I really don't know what is the right answer to the content collection question is. On the one side I'd like to agree with the admin that any publicly shared material on social media is fair game - but on the other side, shouldn't there still be some care and thought about these things?

Also, I'm not really sure if this whole mess is going to die down soon. Usually, things like this tend to die down soon - but the DailyMail story seems to have been picked up by numerous news sources. Even the slightly trashy, slightly DM-like Belgian/Flemish newspaper has now picked it up. This things seems to be going viral a little bit - which does worry me.

I think it would be a wise move for our movement to be a little more private/hidden from now on.

At this stage we're waiting to see if the DM article will drop from Google's first page results when searching for "preggophilia". It's not good for the site.

To move beyond this, it might be necessary to rebrand and reconstitute the site under a different name and a fresh script while preserving all of our content and threads. Additionally, we'll likely make a few policy changes regarding the privacy of finds, mainly for our protection. This is just a thought and I'm hoping the "news" box will disappear after a while.

For now, we'll carry on as usual. The content removal requests are slowing down and people tend to forget these things.

(August 15, 2015, 8:11 pm)FunTime It's an invasion of privacy in both ways. It is pretty sad that things like this make the rest of us look like creeps.

Legally it isn't. When you post something online, there is no "reasonable expectation" of privacy, nor is there when you go out in public, which makes taking candids legal, too. There was no invasion of privacy involved (at least legally) at all. Morally it is a different story, but legally nothing was done illegally.

I'm pretty sure there's a few of us who have took pictures from social media sites (which is a grey area enough) but doing what he did is shameful and disgusting!

Plus the word preggophilia is being used for ANY of the sites, not specifically this site but after reading some reports they never named a website they just used ''preggophilia'' as a generalization for all websites. (which obviously isn't the case for the DM one)

Wow. I just found this thread and it's always one dumbass(excuse my language) that ruins it for everybody. I think going forward, we'll probably have to speak up sooner when fishy posts are made so this doesn't happen again.

Indeed. This incident was made worse by the fact that highly organized and networked groups were targeted, and then, for reasons I don't fully understand, P1BP27 essentially boasted about posting content by providing a link to our site.

After the news broke, he posted a link to the DM article under a different account. He then sent me this under yet another account by email:

Quote:quite serious.....was in the daily mail ......this guy must have annoyed lots of moms!

I suspect P1BP27 is an outlier, mentally unstable and not terribly bright. We trust our members to act discreetly and it's not our business where or how content is obtained. Nonetheless, erratic behavior (boasting about being a "king") is a sign to watch for as a precaution.
