State of the Forum

Since launching Preggophilia in early 2012 the forum has grown enormously thanks to amazing contributors and great participation from our members. We now have over 60,000 pictures, 12,000 members, 2,500 threads and 20,000 posts. This month we've broken a record for traffic levels. In order to support continued growth, the forum will be migrated to a proprietary script with a range of features impossible to implement within the current (outmoded) framework -- Xenforo. The transition is expected to occur this month or next and may cause some disruptions.

The script includes:

Fluid design -- the design of the forum will seamlessly scale to all platforms, from mobile phones to desktop systems. It will remain minimalistic and uncluttered.

Ajax-based drop-and-drag image uploading (on most platforms) to make attaching pictures more convenient.

A proper image viewer with navigation.

A gallery integrated within the forum -- the gallery will pull content off the forum and will be accessible to members with a certain number of posts/thanks in order to ensure active participation on the forum itself. Moreover, images will be highly sortable and filterable with individual ratings. The gallery will be read-only. Preggophilia will always be, at its core, a forum.

Improved social functions, particularly reputation, reply notifications and messaging. These will be optional.

Because privacy tops the list of member concerns, there will be absolutely no integration with Facebook or Twitter.

I can't thank you admins enough. After the original pregnant community site went down, I came here and eventually grew to love this site more than I could have ever imagined . This site surpasses any other forum, past or present, related to the pregnancy fetish. Keep up the great work! Your excellent forum will only get better with time

I’d like to also take this opportunity to thank our moderators/admin for their excellent work on this website. As someone who used to get involved in forum moderating some ten (plus) years ago elsewhere, believe me when I say it's no easy task. It can be very time consuming.

I do say, hand on heart, that this remains about the best forum that I know of to discuss our pregnancy (and pregnancy related) fetishes. I genuinely don’t know of any other place which have been even on par with this since opening and certainly not when it comes to our forums. We do have a good number of great contributors here, whether it be getting involved with the discussions, producing stories or uploading pictures. We really do have a solid community of decent, respectable and friendly people and I do feel privileged to be a small part of it. It was the first place where I come and actually felt comfortable enough to sign up and discuss our fetish.

As far as I’m concerned long may it continue and I’m looking forward to the planned update, especially when it comes to the pictures. I’m sure any disruption caused will be worth it.

As for potential features that could be implemented. Would it be possible to have a subscription feature? Say you have a favourite content sharer (sbflicker and lasjuda are personal favourites) and you enjoy everything or almost everything they share. Is it possible that you have say a notification in the top corner of the homepage that alerts you and provides a quick link to any content they post?
This would work very well for people who don't log on everyday or want to subscribe to a specific person/thread.

Not ashamed to say I'm glad I was proven wrong.

The forum will include a handful of subscription functions -- tracking forum subsections, threads and members. Unless a poster chooses to be invisible, "subscribing" will be possible by "following" him and all posts will show up within your profile's feed (with the option of receiving email notifications) in addition to a notifier. The script includes a range of social networking features -- most will be turned off by default except for tracking, likes/reputation and private messaging.

Much appreciated. Regular backups, spam control and monitoring are key. With other sites folding left and right, this upgrade is more important than before. A complementary and somewhat integrated site for video content is also in the works (embedding, reserved usernames - no automatic registrations), but that's still far away.
