Once every few years? What about back to back (and belly to belly). I would hope that they would be pregnant all the time, non stop.

I've read before that it varies depending on the surrogate. Some of them do have back-to-back pregnancies because although they want to help people have families, another primary motivating factor for them is the money for their services because a lot of surrogates charge considerable fees for carrying the babies. Those women would want to get in as many pregnancies as they could while they're still able to become pregnant.

I've also heard of women that get pregnant every other year to have time to physically recover.

That article was awesome! My mom loves being a surrogate and she does it for free. the look on the peoples faces. considering she has 3 degrees i can see why. I'm sure some women do it for the help and who wouldn't like getting huge. its like going to dinner and always having your friend pay so your friend pay.

After establishing your own family, that would really be something! Wouldn't want her preggo all the time though, dealing/helping with her emotional ups and downs got old after 2 pregnancies. Sounds like this lady can handle it though, good for her.

Interesting... years ago I read that military wives were having surrogate babies while their husbands were deployed to kinda do their own part to help society. At the time, childbirth was 100% free and they were able to charge $$$ to be a surrogate... under the table I'm sure but were making 25k and up each pregnancy!

In response to Porkchop, I had forgotten about the stories of military wives having been surrogates and having made $25,000 and up for each pregnancy. Sure, most of them probably were under the table, but it didn't matter. They all had the chance for repeated pregnancies and lots of money on top of that, which was excellent

If it means anything, I'm currently in negotiations to see if I can be a surrogate (no partner now, but whatever). If it goes through, this could be good for ya'll!
