Question for anyone whose wife hospital birthed and had rooming-in: was she able/allowed to drop one side of the bassinet and make it a side car next to the bed?

Both times I’ve given birth, the hospital doesn’t supply you with a legit bassinet it’s more like a plastic bin with a mattress pad in it, so there’s no opportunity to drop the sides. Plus hospitals in the US enforce “no co sleeping” so it’d probably go against hospital policy but I don’t see why you couldn’t bring your own bassinet that allows that function.

Same here.  Plus hospital beds are not set up for it.
