Water seems to be easier. I never tried it fearing for my health, so I read something. If you want, I can share some links about it
It’s much easier (and safer) to get a strap on fake pregnant belly in my opinion.
You would have to take in a dangerous amount of water to make your belly grow. As for forced air inflation that comes with even more risks. You have to account for how good the elasticity of your skin is and a lot of other factors.
Air inflation isn't something I'd personally do or recommend. I know there are several people out there on the internet who have done this to have some reasonable success, but I've always considered it too risky. I feel much the same way over water if I have to be completely honest with you all.
Whenever I've done a 'pretend pregnancy' (unfortunately due to a lack of personal time, it only happens once in a blue moon), I've always have a good size meal and several beers before-hand...and then push out the belly an hour or so after that. From my own experience, the effects can be pretty impressive.
I hate to be the breaker of bad news, but drinking too much water can actually be fatal, and would be so if you ever wanted to get even remotely close to getting "decent" results.
There are people out there who can do water/air inflation safely, but it could take years of practice and years worth of getting your skin/body used to expanding and stretching out to where it gets used to doing it, and then each pushing it just a _little_ bit further. There was one girl who used to do an inflation and she has some really famous videos on YouTube where she got super huge during what would be the last video she posted (I suspect some of you might know who I'm talking about). Based on some clues I read in the comment section on YouTube, I think she had previously been pregnant and had a kid, so her belly was still used to being stretched out. I personally tried air and water inflation once a very long time ago, but have since stopped. I had to stop due to health reasons as well being sensible, but I found that water inflation is far more comfortable than air inflation, but much harder to rig up where you can get decent results. There's also soda bloats, where girls have drank 2-4 or 6 liters of Soda (usually a Coke product), I even saw one BBW put away 8 liters of soda. . .unless you are a huge BBW with a big stomach capacity, I wouldn't recommend doing this. It looks extremely painful, even for girls who are used to doing this.
If recomend fake belly or (if possible) just a real pregnancy at that point.
