“Beloved”: A very off beat period piece that climaxes with a very nude, pregnant Thandie Newton. The effects are pretty decent even though the belly on her is particularly small; the drenched sweat is an added bonus.

“The Seventh Sign”: Demi Moore, surprisingly not during her real life infamous pregnancy, is knocked up with a baby that could bring forth the apocalypse. On display are some very nice effects, probably one of the most realistic pregnant bellies for a movie from the 80s.

I only posted the screen caps of all the bare belly content at the end of season 1; primarily chapter 20 and chapter 22. There’s got to be hundreds of pictures for “Jane the Virgin’s” entire pregnancy run so I’ll also post a link to the screen cap site.

In the world of cinema and TV, I could only think of probably two decent to excellent fictional pregnancies involving Hispanic actresses with some pretty realistic effects. Besides Sofia Vergara in “Modern Family” and maybe the little bit of J. Lo we got in “The Back-Up Plan”, not much was coming down the creative pipeline.

In comes “Jane the Virgin”. Not much was expected to come from a CW telenovela spoof, but what the show did was great; making a pregnancy as arousing as possible.

Content involved: a particularly large realistic bare belly, the main actress munching through cravings, a realistically portrayed belly expansion, and an actress who doesn’t look particularly thrown off by her fake belly; the belly looks natural.

Let’s hope Gina Rodriguez aka Jane gets knocked up next season.
