So... the last photo is actually a still from the movie "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow" 1963 film starring Sofia Loren. 3 different plots in the movie but the first one involves her constantly staying pregnant to basically stay outta jail.

I ripped it long ago but it's 13 gb's without subtitles so I edited the video to include one of the longer scenes of her preggers.
It's in Italian but, in the English version the kids are singing "She's got the belly" announcing to the entire community that she's pregnant again thereby staying outta jail once more.

A nice thread idea! Looking at how maternity clothes have changed throughout history is always compelling to me.

I gotta agree, those 50s and 60s maternity smocks made ladies look so gigantic the way they
tented out over the belly. They were super sexy in their way.

There was a 60s movie with Sandra Dee called "Doctor You've Got To Be Kidding" where she gets
knocked up while 3 other guys are fighting over her. Don't ask me how they got the story to come off
innocent but it was a screwball comedy so anything goes. Anyway she got HUGE and they put her in these
little smock things. Wow was she adorable.
