A supporting character, Anya, is pregnant with twins. She is pregnant and showing throughout the game, but gets an all too brief badass mother moment late in the game (3h17m3s in the video below).

That scene seems... Rather excessive (not the nudity part, the whole shower of blood part), although I'm not complaining. Makes me disappointed they didn't make that cute Jewish girl from The Old Blood BJ's love interest instead.

The BJ becoming a father sideplot is actually done well. It's a shame the rest of the game is plagued by exceptionally bad storytelling. I'm not saying that because I'm some buttblasted Daily Stormer subscriber, I just think they could've written it in a way that placed more emphasis on the human tragedy aspect as a whole and made the premise more historically plausible. You see glimpses of that throughout the game, but it's quick to fall back on trying to mindlessly appeal to the current "punch a Nazi xddd" political climate.

Even still, punching Nazis tends to be one of life's simple pleasures.

Fair enough, I just think they could've done a better job at telling the story so as to justify why you should punch Nazis, not just that you should do it for the sake of doing it.

I never really liked most WW2 games like Medal of Honor or early Call of Duty (Brothers in Arms and Call of Duty World at War being the exceptions) story-wise because they never actually showed what made the Nazis so evil, always either relying on fictitious dastardly plots or not just mentioning it all. I was pleasantly surprised (as strange as it sounds) to see The New Order give players a glimpse into the horrors of the concentration camps, Aktion T4, and the Holocaust rather than ignoring it. The new game still does that to an extent, but it winds up taking a back seat.

Also thought they completely blew it with the character of BJ's father. It would have made for far better writing to make him a flawed, somewhat antagonistic, and tragic character, but one with some redeeming qualities. Maybe he is indeed a racist and a harsh parent (products of his time) , but he also genuinely loves his wife and BJ (something that transcends time) and is doing what he thinks is necessary to make sure his son can survive in a harsh and unforgiving world. Maybe he collaborates with the Nazis, but does so in a vain attempt to save his wife from deportation (unfortunately a common occurrence, even among Jews), only to have her ripped from away from him regardless and be left an outcast for doing so. Maybe he comes to realize his own hypocrisy and as he dies, admits to his son that he was wrong and asks forgiveness, for what little good it does. Such a story would heart-wrenching and serve as a reminder what National Socialism (and totalitarianism in general) is so insidious, it drives even good people to do terrible things.

Allow me to clarify since I think you may have misunderstood me.

What I'm saying is that I appreciate that Wolfenstein: The New Order actually covered the topic of the Holocaust. Most video games like Medal of Honor and Call of Duty outright ignore it and basically treat it like it never happened, which is a disservice to the victims and to history in my opinion.

Now I understand why you might disagree with that, but I feel like it trivializes the Allied cause and the war as a whole to not show the very horror so many died trying to stop.
