All this exposure to lead particles is going to seriously fuck up their kids.

Good news is, it takes an awful lot of lead exposure from commercial ammunition to even register in any blood screening. The reason why is that all modern indoor ranges have pretty good ventilation and filtering, for obvious reasons. Not much reason to worry about that outdoors unless the wind is constantly in your face, either. Anyway, we're talking many, many thousands of rounds in a very short amount of time to really worry about lead exposure. About the only time it's ever come up that I've ever heard of was an inadequately-ventilated shoothouse for training SOCOM units, whose members once tested alarmingly high for lead (but not dangerously so), and those guys shoot A LOT.

Then, there's commercial ammunition available with lead-free primers and projectiles to eliminate that worry altogether.

The first and immediate worry that comes to my mind is noise, however. As far as I know, there is no effective sound protection to go around a pregnant lady's belly, and past about 20 weeks there is serious risk of hearing damage to the baby. An unsuppressed gunshot can be as loud as 160+ dB, and permanent hearing loss starts at 140, with the pain threshold at about 130. Even suppressors don't often bring that down below 120dB, even on handguns, let alone a rifle.

I know several instructors with kids and when they were pregnant it was safe from the obgyn cause the kids are insulated.
