I've always wondered this, and nowadays with cloud services becoming worse it just seems like a logical solution to me.

I have loads of content that I want to share with the community, but don't want to pay for Mega or whatever have you, mainly because that'd just entice other people interested in the content to pay Mega as well. I don't like how it works, their 4GB limit is bullshit, and I'd much rather do things my way.

Naturally torrents sound like a good idea for that, right? Free, decentralized (sort of), upload whatever you want, will keep working til the cows come home (or until the last seed goes away, whichever comes first)

Torrents are only as good as the seeder's bandwith. If you have a huge collection but trash interent, then you're better off just using a drive. Not to mention once that seeder's gone or taken offline, the torrent becomes useless. At least with drives you can download and reupload the file as many times as you want.
