I don't really know how people get fetishes. I believe it's something in the brain. I don't know. Talk about it. Go ham.

I don't think we really "get" them -- it's not like catching a cold.

Our brains are all wired differently, and some of that wiring gives some people predispositions toward certain things. Some of us are good at language, music, math... some aren't, but the possibilities are pretty much endless.

Fetishes are no different -- they can be "activated" with the right environment. You may have great potential to be a musician, but without someone to mentor you, or an instrument to experiment with, you'll never figure it out. With fetishes, if you're never exposed to the activating stimuli, you may never realize you have them. Some are probably unavoidable -- we're all bound to see a pregnant woman at some point, and if that fetish is lurking back there... click! But suppose you had the potential to be into golden showers or something, but no one ever peed on you, and you never thought to ask anyone for it. You do arguably "have" that fetish, but you'd never even know!

I agree with Akhenaten. Science actually shows that changes that women go through while pregnant are designed to keep her attractive to her man. The "Pregnancy Glow" as they call it. Plus there is something masculine about impregnating a woman.

There actually is some truth in this as my mom was pregnant three times after she had me. She let me feel her belly to help me get use to the idea of having siblings. Maybe that factors into the fetish too?

My mom wasn't shy about nudity when she was pregnant. She often took baths with me as a kid naked and let me feel her bare belly. Could that also be a factor?
