They are not cheaper, they are smarter.
The same way you're going to a store and try to find the cheapest price out of similar products.
Buying something for a much higher price, while the reward stays the same makes no sense at all.
So, finding a product that i can buy multiple times for the same price of a more expensive one is logic.
I wouldn't want it any other way

Neither. It's just supply and demand. Cam shows can be pretty expensive, even extortionate at times. If someone can give you the same thing for cheaper, go with the cheaper option.

What American models? But seriously, the amount of American models is miniscule compared to foreign ones. Why chase after an American girl who already sporadically shows up compared to a Colombian who actually tried to make an effort (most of the time)?

Another thing to consider is when it comes to webcam sites, U.S. women have stiff competition from foreign women, specially those who reside in Colombia. I tend to be attracted more to women who have the “spice” that comes with being an exotic breed. Also, foreign women are more likely willing to offer discounted services because their concept of monetary value is not the same as an egotistical U.S. woman who thinks she is a 10.5 worth inflated rates.

As consumers, it is in our programming to save money on purchases. Foreign women fill our save money mindset nicely. For guys who prefer them it’s a win.

A bit flawed to assume those are the only two possible reasons, isn't it?

(1) there are simply more webcam models based outside of the US
(2) I suspect more US women are inclined to use other platforms like OnlyFans rather than webcam sites
(3) the clientele for webcams is not just Americans, but people all over the world.

Webcams don't interest me personally, but cost is hardly a mutually-exclusive explanation.

You have to consider the massive amount of viewers that aren't from somewhere with a strong currency like the US or Europe. 100 tokens on CB would run me $50 and that would barely buy me a minute in a private show. I can't remember which one, but I remember seeing a model charge something like 300 tk just to show belly, which would be $150! when a cheaper (foreign) model would probably charge 50-70tk ($25-35).
