(April 20, 2014, 9:18 pm)blackhawk6 If an IKEA is near any of you guys you have to go. I personally see at least 3 all the time. I never 'hunt' I just notice and savor the moment.

You've beaten me to this...! I was going to suggest IKEA too! My nearest one is about 20/25 miles away and you can always pretty much gurantee to spot pregnant ladies in there of varying ages and varying sizes from small bumps up until 'ready to pop' size. This particular IKEA is part of a small retail complex so I tend to go in there for a few bits and pieces, or purely to browse what they have to offer / what's new if I've walked around the other stores.

I don't think I've gone much more than five minutes after going through the entrance door when a pregnant lady either walks past me, crosses in front of me e.t.c... On some visits there may only be one or two in there, but on others you can spot upwards of ten. Summer months tend to be the most popular for them from my experience.

I don't know what it is about IEKA, but they do genuinely attract them as if they were a magnet. Few other stores I know of has this effect to quite the same degree.

(For the record if I had to class myself into a category, I'm more of a 'watcher' than anything else... I can say hand on heart that the only time I actually 'seek' is if they happen to be in the same vacinity as me, at the same time. I do no 'seeking' as such...)

Haven't tried IKEA yet, but I may have to soon. It's difficult for me to get to the only one around here.
Question: Do you think it's better to go on a weekend or early afternoon on a weekday?

The office i work at is right in the centre of town, so on my breaks i go to the shopping centre just round the corner. Normally see atleast one pregnant woman each time i go.

Here is one i saw today. Starting to get more confident taking candid pics so should be posting more often in this group hopefully.

In my opinion, it would be the weekend purely for the fact that a lot of people aren't at work. So, there's a greater chance of spotting a wider variety of pregnant ladies.

The majority of my visits to IKEA over the years have been at weekends purely for the fact that I work all week. I've been in there on a few occasions if I've had time off work, but can't say it's been a decent time for 'spottings' as such. However, I can probably count on one hand the times I've been in there during the working week.

I think one of the reasons why IKEA is a good place to go is because a lot of the furniture they do now is not bad at all and it's modestly priced (high importance for soon-to-be parents I'd imagine!). As I said, it's part of a small shopping copmplex so it's reasonably popular for a morning/afternoon out. There's also a fast-food place straight across the road and two decent pub-cme-resturants within a couple of minute's drive...

Big-box stores and shopping malls, as well public events out in parks are ideal places to find pregnant women...many of them it turns out don't mind you're giving them positive attention. I don't feel like coming up to her instantly, esp. where they are people, security and a husband wondering what's my motive talking to his wife. You need to approach term cautiously if you want to socialize, other than that, take out your cameras.

Another bit of advice is bus stops. and in front of doctors' offices (keep yourself in low profile). Pregnant women see their doctors and in my case, when I see a pregnant woman stand outside when it's not hot in the summer, I start a little chit chat with her and regular small talk is fine, as long the convo is polite and respectful. On hot days, I waited inside the doctors' offices without any suspicious looks from the office staff and the woman didn't mind me sitting near her, despite my concerns she's married or has a BF. The staff assumed I'm with the woman, but I wished she ask me to come inside and check out her belly, see the ultrasound of the baby, and afterward, I could have coffee or a snack with her, but she don't want to involve with me...which is their choice I'm fine with.

And here's a story: When I rode my bike in front of an elementary school parking lot, I spotted a pregnant woman walking out of the school office, she happened to be a parent picking up her child. I asked her "is this the school?" pretending I'm a visitor, she said "Yeah" and we talked abit, she wasn't scared or bothered, she was in a rather good mood. She actually said "You happen to like pregnant women?" and I replied "Sorta, but not obsessed." I felt she's onto my motive, there are moments when she enjoys being pregnant, other than her humorous remark "heartburn, backaches and rushing to the bathroom". All I know is she's doing fine, everything in her life is typical of pregnancy and she looks forward to her fourth child (the child she's picking up is her second-born). Then her kid came by and she had to leave, she said "nice to meet you" and she drove home, as I rode my bike out of there.
Pregnant women are growing, showing, knowing herself...and glowing bright with life. Angel

This thread has been dead for a while, but would like to restart with SUMMER on the way and many of us 'seeking'.

My favorite places to go include:

Parades - often attended by MTBs if they already have small children... everyone has their cameras out... and the MTBs are usually watching their own children so they don't get run over running for candy. If it's a HOT parade, like 4th of July here, then the clothing is only topped by what I see at the beach.

Public beach with childrens play area. Again, looking for the 2nd time or more round for the MTB. Not as many cameras and be carefull if you are not there with family taking your 'own pictures'. I've seen more preggos in bikinis than one pieces...

Good seeking!

A good place is Leroy's Merlin shop, or bricolage shops: a lot of pregnant woman needs some news furnitures to the next children, and you can hunt 7 or 8 every day

I used to work at a Target, and there were always a lot of pregnant women in there.
