I was messing at Allure Bridal. Using the hypothetical measurements, the sizes were: 18/20/28. What size would she order, and how drastic will alterations be?

Dress sizes are arbitrary and meaningless by themselves. All women's clothing starts as being designed to fit a 5'4" (163 cm) tall woman with an hourglass figure. There have been attempts to create industry standards on sizing, but companies never follow them. Sizing can even change between different styles of the same garment.

I agree.  I dont think there can really be a normal size on a wedding dress.

What is this for anyways? Are you getting married?
