I hate to be a downer, but whenever I am browsing sites like Rule34 it seems like half of the uploads are of AI art. I dislike it because the machine does not know what a pregnant belly should look like and they end up looking like she is just fat, along with the usual issues with AI not being able to do eyes and hands. Am I the only one with these opinions or do some of you all share similar thoughts?

I feel similarly, especially because the AI stuff can end up clogging it up so much that I can't see the really good art from real artists. I wish sites would let me opt in to seeing AI generated art rather than having it take over by default.

It'a flooded an already flooded fetish with content that really doesn't bring anything useful to the table, imo. Like cool bro, you trained an AI to put a Mileena mask from Mortal Kombat on a procedurally generated body that just doesn't look quite right. If you're into it, cool. I'd rather see the real thing.

I mean, I trained my model, I think it very much knows what a pregnant woman looks like, but yes the general models don't know because they are general models.

100% agree. i've made and posted some ai stuff here, and it's ok, but i have absolutely 0 interest in seeing more than a very small portion of my feed be ai-made. not even necessarily just because a lot of it looks bad or generic, but just because there's so much of it. at a certain point it just becomes noise, regardless of the quality. the problem is obviously structural, and will have much larger downstream consequences than just porn (lmao), but websites really will need to get their shit together when it comes to filtering.

AI art is fine. AI shovelware isn't. You get these users out there that crank this shit out, particularly with porn pen, and just dump all the acceptable results they get in a session, "acceptable" being whatever bar the individual sets. Instead of taking the time to generate a very specific idea and refine it, then inpaint the fuckups and weirdness out of it, they just crank out the same shit over and over with little craftsmanship, variance, or originality. That behavior sucks the "Art" out of it and turns it in a manufactured product. They aren't creating anything. The AI is. They clearly stop refining and guiding the AI once it starts shitting out C- work.

Hopefully this will die down once the mediocre effort stops getting attention, but I'll confess I don't completely understand what people in this fetish like to see.

I've made AI images that took me hours to refine, because the tools are there, and it isn't art if there's mistakes you have the skill to see and fix. That last 10% however is half the work sometimes, and it often goes unnoticed. I've spent hours upon hours on morphs doing skin details no one is going to notice on a phone screen, and when it gets disregarded for one with massive anatomical errors and little effort when it comes to matching skin tone and perfective and texture... That can get a little discouraging. AI shovelware that comes out of things like pornpen can have the same effect on someone who puts in the work. I'm most definitely sounding salty and gatekeepy but it's on topic.

I make AI art, and I like it because it's better than paying a bunch of money to have other artists give me what I want. Not that I'm against commissioning artists, but if there's a particular idea that I want to see, I can just generate it now for free, and refine it until it fits my taste.

It is frustrating, though, that the AI can't seem to get hands right. I use the Draw Things app, and it does eyes fairly well, but no AI program I've ever used has been able to do hands well. Not to mention it doesn't seem to understand what navels are, so I either get no navel or some weird abomination in the middle of the belly. It's not perfect, but, again, I prefer this than spending $50+ on a single art commission that may take weeks/months to complete and may not be exactly what I want.

As far as sharing it goes, I agree that AI art should be separated from human art (like what Pixiv does), but sometimes the AI art is better than human art! I'd rather look at an AI pic than a kindergarten drawing some guy posted on DeviantArt.

The breaking factor with AI art is the same I have with drawings/cartoons. Despite how good it may be, it's rare to find a picture that makes the belly look realistically shaped, sized, and anatomically correct how it fits on the woman. In my experience more times than not, it just looks like a balloon strapped to the front of them and doesn't look convincing. Not always, but easily 90% of the time.

Check out Schpog's commission info, for example:
https://schpogart.carrd.co/

The cheapest piece costs up to 60 Euros (about $65), and it says it can take up to 8 weeks to finish it.

I mean no disrespect towards her, by the way. I love her art. I'm just saying I could either have several fairly high-quality AI pieces now for free that I can fine-tune to my liking, or I can wait up to 8 weeks for her to do one piece for $65, and any changes after will cost extra. It's not a hard choice for me.
