Bullshit. Do you even really believe that article? Besides TikTok is on of the biggest "Social media" platforms currently. Also with the short video format style is one of the current biggest trends right now. Even YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram has features that "imitates" TikTok.

This is a weirdly hostile response.

The stuff going on between TikTok and the US government is about 40% legitimate concern and 60% grandstanding. A ban would be unpopular in the US and bad business for Bytedance. Most likely the US will either back off on their threats or try to get Bytedance to sell TikTok to someone that isn't in China (or Russia). Either way, everyone's #fyp is likely safe, unless Google buys it to kill it.
