Species II and other movies with belly expansions could have done something like this rather than the belly bursting stuff you see in them.
I figured the belly burst was always sort of a way for the filmmakers to get around depicting an off camera vaginal birthing, like this one, thus keeping the legitimacy of an "Alien" style body horror. Like for instance, Norman J. Warren and Harry Bromley Davenport, the directors of the films "Inseminoid" and "Xtro", two other films with belly scenes that end with birthing would probably rather have their films viewed as homages/rip offs of Alien rather than the "video nasties" they have since been labeled as.

I particularly loved the actress's "Lamaze" breathing that accompanied her breathy cry of "Geh-get... OUT", as that sort of breathing is to help stave off the urge to push during contractions, which sort of illustrated her need to be rid of the presence that had invaded her womb coming up against the realization that the thing in her belly was only about to come out one way. Thankfully the natural way, despite the rather booger shaped thing that comes out. Still enjoyed the post birth Warlock POV of her blood smeared behind as she was crawling away from him as the villain then mockingly called her "Mother" .

RIP Julian Sands.

Yeah I've always thought her lamaze breathing was a good and nice touch. I also have always liked the quick breath she does before she looks at her belly just atter he dress rips. I didn't realise she was saying "Geh-get OUT". I've always wondered what she was saying, now I know.
