What else will change the culture on this site? The dad made a high quality video, which is great content for us. He deserves to be rewarded for it.

So you think that you made a persuasive point or argument with your initial comment? Because if you did, I suggest you try not infusing your argument with the condescension that it so cleary has.
I buy the vast majority of my content and support models. I also don't think so highly of myself that I presume I can change the minds of those who are incredibly opposed to paying for content.
Do your part, I'll do mine. And if you one day have enough influence to make a genuine attempt to "change the culture of this site" (I think you meant the whole internet), good for you
