Very nice to see older ladies can still swell up for us. I always thought their eggs were duds beyond 40 years of age. Makes the 54-year-old woman in the story I'm writing seem more real and not just fiction.

It varies slightly from woman to woman, but fertility plummets like a stone somewhere between the ages of 42 - 45. Natural conception is still possible around 40 or 41, but virtually all pregnancies from the age of 45 onwards involve some sort of medical intervention, usually IVF. I met my partner about three years ago, and although she's open to the idea of starting a second family with me (she already has four kids from her previous marriage), it's almost 100% certain that she won't get pregnant at her age (she'll be 50 in November).

 Wow, I think it's exciting she's open to getting pregnant again at this stage in her life. It would be awesome to see a woman at that age with a pregnant belly. I've always been fascinated by the idea of older women getting pregnant. On the other hand, I guess my story goes back to being fiction.
